I was saying the other day, I wonder whether there was talk of him serving a bit of an apprenticeship under Ancelotti, with a view to taking over a few years down the line. Then Ancelotti moved on earlier than expected and he wasn’t ready to do it at that point, so he still has the dream of doing it but the reality of the situation hasn’t quite worked out.I find Ferguson's recent comments really confusing. From what he says his dream is to manage Everton but that he's maybe not ready, he hasn't got the experience, he thinks Everton need the best managers.
Why then has he accepted to stay on as assistant for 6+ years? Does he not realise he'll have to go out and get said experience if he doesn't feel up to the task now?
