I find Ferguson's recent comments really confusing. From what he says his dream is to manage Everton but that he's maybe not ready, he hasn't got the experience, he thinks Everton need the best managers.

Why then has he accepted to stay on as assistant for 6+ years? Does he not realise he'll have to go out and get said experience if he doesn't feel up to the task now?
I was saying the other day, I wonder whether there was talk of him serving a bit of an apprenticeship under Ancelotti, with a view to taking over a few years down the line. Then Ancelotti moved on earlier than expected and he wasn’t ready to do it at that point, so he still has the dream of doing it but the reality of the situation hasn’t quite worked out.

Possibly. It's just an odd one, like what is his ambition? I mean he's 50 now and everything is always 'one day' to him. Maybe he's too scared to leave in case he fails and then doesn't know where to go after that.

RIP EFC.
I chalked that on my garage wall when we went 2-0 down to Wimbledon so convinced was I that we were about to drop out of the top league.
For all of the shoite that's flying around thec club at present, it's moments like that making me believe we can somehow get through this and sort things out.
I know mate but we are one bad decision away from catastrophe and it could be made in the next few days

You're blob on.
You could argue all day about who we'll end up with, but you'd have to question who in their right mind would want to come here. Some superannuated veteran who's best days are well gone?
The way I see it no up and coming promising coach will have the nous to steady the ship.

Agreed. Lampard, Rooney, Kovac, Pereira...all got negatives, all got being fired on their CV (bar Rooney who's only in the job 12months)...can go on all day.

Bottom line is nothing is guaranteed.

Maybe so but there are a lot of names being mentioned with a lot more "positives" than negatives. I can't see a single positive for Vitor.

The more I've read about him and fans views, they've calmed me down a little as they all say he's still a good coach who at times have had interference from the club - especially Fenerbache. The Munich jabs are just black and white "he got them relegated" even though they were already dead in the water when he joined.

However, that's not a seal of approval especially in our situation. And if you're putting him up against Lampard and Rooney... personally thing they're all on the same level in terms of negatives and positives.

However...names like your Kovac etc should really be the ones we're after.

Seen a few say that but to be fair to Ferguson, Allan wasn't fit after Covid to start. We then didn't really have the options to go three in the middle. Once that's understood, we're on his back for not starting Onyango or Gbamin, really.

To play three in midfield, we need three midfielders. Mad that often we've not really had three decent midfielders.
Makes sense it's not ideal but didn't Ferguson use Holgate in the middle last time he was caretaker? I think when you're that desperate for a Midfielder you have to get creative and adopt special circumstances as I think its crucial to play a midfield three especially with gomes. The midfield seems to be a perennial crisis
