I'd agree with that. However, the events today sort of make me wonder whether Moshiri hasn't made a determined decision here to just plough on with Benitez as long as Burnley, Newcastle and Norwich all look lifeless at the bottom.

Personally, I think Benitez has to be handed the January window and a month or so after that to show he's got us on the move - but for that to make sense we have to get a handful of points on the board to keep away from the relegation spots until that point. Five or six points out of the next five games will suffice - it'll be enough to keep ahead of danger and then start a run of easier fixtures with the January window to come to get a couple in.

Part of me wants to take this to the limit to see if we can stabilise without the need to (again) change managers, but I know there's a danger to that brinkmanship.

We need to reset the club and start from somewhere. Maybe hiring a coach that isn't established is the best way forward, letting them sign players to build a future upon and see how that goes.
