Maybe the better managers don't want the job with things as they are. Maybe they're saying, "We'll take the job if you're still in this league by summer, and we have time and a bit of a player budget for next season, but as things stand you might go down no matter what we do, and we'll just look bad". Hence, 6 month contract for the less able ones, who might as least stabilise things. Dunno, but just a guess at a possibility.
I think lampard could work but do understand your reasons. Just think he would connect players esp like godfrey dcl ect. But vitor , canavaro just pathetic moves by the club
Lampard 18 months just give it a go. He'd get more of a united backing than most.
