How did he ruin Derby. He left after narrowly losing a play off final.

Please define "ruin".

People need to get over this obsession with experience and proven PL managers. Appointing these types of boss have got us nowhere. Give someone young and hungry the job and let them prove themselves. Lampard would be an excellent manager for us because his strengths are using and improving young players and that is our only long term chance here.

People need to have a little bit of ambition and be willing to try something and get behind something longer term. Older players and older managers have left us in a mess. Why would we go down that route again.
That seem to be way Moshiri likes to do it. He only wants experience managers and ones not in a job

The stuff about Lampard is all simply because he's not as good as Tuchel. It's an irrational argument because no one close to the calibre of Tuchel is coming here.

Judge him in his own right and on his achievement during the season of actual real football and not the season of fake behind doors football where his new signings took 6 months to find their feet. The centre forward he was given was immediately replaced by Tuchel with a 90m pound forward as well.

He got top 4 in a normal season with a young team, during a transfer ban, after Hazard was sold. That was an excellent achievement, and the fact that he couldn't get Werner, Havertz, Ziyech etc to perform immediately doesn't concern me at all, because Tuchel finds it hard to get consistency from them too.
Chelsea have been luck to be where they are, there front line is a really really good but when it comes to putting the ball in the net they are all storm troopers(except Rom) and can’t hit a barn door

Only managing a win percentage of 42 after years of investment, not counting the quality loans he got from Chelsea, is pretty much 'ruining'. Benitez at least came up after relegating.

+ look what Tuchel did witht the same Chelsea XI.
He's Koeman 2.0. He'll provide a nice new managersbounce but nothing more. Rather have Rooney

Oh look the Tuchel argument as well. What a load of nonsense. Why are you comparing him with an elite CL winning manager. Is Tuchel coming here or something? Compare him based on the realistic state we find ourselves.

And the idea he is to blame for Derby's issues is farcical.

He's not good enough. The idea of sacking a manager and replacing him with somebody who failed twice since 2018/19 is farcical.
I really hope we can do better than that.

He didn't fail in either job. He didn't do as well as Tuchel but that's because Tuchel is a top 5 in the world manager.

If you seriously think we are attracting a manager of that calibre then you are deluded. We need a young hungry manager who will prove themselves because no proven manager is coming anywhere near this club.

He didn't get Derby to the prem: Fail
He managed to get sacked at Chelsea, leaving them 9th in the table: Fail

Additional failures at Chelsea: most goals conceded per game since Ruud Gullit (1998!!) + lowest win percentage of any manger since Roman Abramovich took over (that's including Roberto DiMatteo & Benitez)

He's just a young Steve Bruce.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I think he will be a top manager. I think Arteta would have been a great long term choice too.

He didn't ruin Derby anyway. I can't take that point seriously. He was one goal from the PL. Yeah maybe that is failure, but it's hardly disastrous.

Bu bu bu he's young and progressive!!

If Benitez goes (and im not convinced he will at this stage) the only realistic candidate out there is Graham Potter.

Give him the job and bring Bissouma here with him.
At least that's an intriguing prospect if there's any money.
They'll have to consider paying off Benitez & Potter's Brighton contract (and that might be too much, he has a contract until 2025) + paying Potter more than what Brighton pays him.

Duncan is already a multi millionaire courtesy of his time with Everton… So that point is pretty daft.

Dalglish?? Not sure what comparisons you’re trying to make with that. He’d won all kinds as a manager with the sh**e as well as Blackburn and Celtic prior to taking over from Hodgson who’s won nothing in English football. And then Dalglish won them a trophy…

Pretty stupid post tbf.

If Duncan takes over from that idiot and wins us a trophy like the comparison you’ve just made, I’ll for one be delighted!

Duncan can do no worse that the absolute garbage we’re being served up at present. He’s Everton through and through and won’t accept performances like this as manager… And let’s not forget that we’ve never won a thing without an ex-player managing the side.

I think the time is right now for Duncan to step up. If not him then I wouldn’t be opposed to Rooney. Blue through and through, knows what the supporters want. Won everything in the game. One of the biggest names in world football and doing an amazing job at Derby in the circs. Would take Rooney over Lampard all day long.
well when he joined Everton he'd had problems with the threat of bankruptcy. Are you saying he's being paid millions as a coach?
The comparison with Dalglish is made to illustrate that the goal is just getting the contract. There's no plan for afterwards.
sorry I've just read you'd be happy to swap the current manager with Rooney. I'm not sure there's much I can say to that.
