At least Lampard doesn't make me want to down bleach like the last appointment did. I'd love to see him make ballsy decision immediately (and be backed to do so). Bin off Tosun and Rondon's contracts, kick El Ghazi back to Villa, bring in 2 PL loans and 2 foreign loans that strengthens defence, midfield x 2 and a back up striker. I would imagine he is well thought of in the game and players would want to play for him at least

I’m more of a reader than a poster, I’m not angry at all.

I just think hiring a manager who’s record is average at the very best,who has zero defensive coaching ability, has limited experience, is very risky and makes relegation more likely.

It’s like Newcastle signing Howe, why on earth would you sign a manager with zero defensive coaching ability whilst fighting relegation? it makes zero sense

You made out like he failed coming 6th with a team of some of the best players in the league. So I am for real. That’s a genuinely hard league to get out of and he done a good job with some good youngsters.

Someone who has a good defensive record and/or a record of keeping teams in the premier league. Lampard needs to hit the ground running and turn things around quickly, and coach the players very quickly. Coaching and the defensive set up seems like his biggest weakness as a manager, therefore I’m worried. relegation would be a disaster, and I think this appointment has question marks and risk written all over it.

if we where mid table/top half, then yea maybe the risk is worth taking, but imho there is too much at risk.

Not when Lampard has a pretty horrendous record as a coach. In 19/20 Chelsea conceded 54 goals in 38 games under Lampard. This season under Tuchel they have conceded 18 in 24 games.

So Chelsea are now conceding almost half as many goals under Tuchel as they did under Lampard.

Lampard's Chelsea conceded almost 1.5 goals per game, imagine what he is going to be like with our defenders. This appointment could be an absolute car crash.
