Well, at least (as a manager) he's got some things in common with us, he's not used to winning things, he loses cup finals (he lost 3 finals in 2.5 years), he took Chelsea into mid table, he's used to dealing without money, he's desperate.

Somehow I suspect he'll be heading down the M6 with a fat wad of cash in the summer. He's an unlikely saviour and I worry how he'll get on the Duncan, they just seem opposites. Otherwise, what was the choice.

Avram Grant has the best PPG of Chelsea managers, didn’t win a jot, in fact bottled a title race and a Champion’s League final to United, showing what an utterly pointless stat it is

The false worry from you and another poster in here is so blatantly obvious
Your manipulation is amazing mate. Grant was an interim manager, and the only reason he didn't win the biggest prize in club football was because John Terry slipped taking the decisive penalty against United in the 2008 final.

The hilarious thing is that Chelsea did win the CL with Tuchel with a side that sacked Lampard.

Is this one of the weaknesses then?
Yep. To have no sympathy and even mock people from other countries being upset at the death of thousands of their citizens and others dying at the hands of terrorism is a weakness. I'm not going to pretend that he's a good person, I simply think he is a good choice for the club as a manager. I'm not going to like him as a person, I'll like/hate him by what he does here as a manager, simple as that.

They had United for the taking in that final, and in the title race

Lampard will do a good job here, I’m sure of that, if nothing else we’ll get more of the younger lads coming through and less of your Iwobi’s and Gomes’ hogging game time
