No I wasn't in favour of Carlo because he was a tactical dinosaur. The same with Benitez he was also a tactical dinosaur. The issue is that comparing Ancelotti and Benitez with Lampard is like comparing Einstein and Turing with Forrest Gump.

As for doing it all in the game. The game is littered with top players who have been rubbish coaches. Lampard is the chump who dropped Jorginho. A player who Sarri and Tuchel saw as absolutely pivotal to their teams.

He is tactically clueless. How do you manage to concede 54 goals with Chelsea in 38 games. That season Chris Wilder's Sheffield United only conceded 39 goals.
He isn’t like, he showed what he can do with Derby, he got Chelsea their bread and butter CL place in the back of a transfer ban promoting youth.

You slate his goals conceded form but answer this, how does a supposedly defensive genius take a Carlo Ancelotti defence that only conceded 9 goals from set plays in 38 games and treble that total in a 3rd of the time?

Lampard has the lowest points per game of any manager in the Abramovich era 1.66.

The 54 goals Chelsea conceded in 19/20 was the most they have conceded since 1996/97

That season Chelsea lost 12 games. No Chelsea team has lost more than 12 League games since 1997/1998

They ended up with 66 points the third worst points total in twenty years for Chelsea.

You maybe could excuse that if Chelsea were in decline, but they won the CL 4 months after sacking Lampard and Tuchel is on course to concede 26 goals and attain 75 points whilst only loosing 5 games.

Lampards track record is horrific on every level.

He got 6th in the championship though. Funnily enough you left that part out.

So he's perfect for us?

Believe me, I was all in on the Kovac wagon. I'm just saying that there are other managers who are MASSIVELY worse than Lampard.
I don’t think Lampard would be most people’s first choice in an ideal world however he seems a more sensible pick than Periera or Martinez. How anyone could contemplate Martinez back after his last 2 years is beyond me.

We now need to get behind Lampard and get him some decent centre midfielders in before the deadline

We also need a Director of Football in soon to start preparing for an overhaul in the Summer
