Much better than the knee-jerk fans who proclaim new managers a messiah one minute and then want their head on a stake the next.

Not many were actually proclaiming Benitez as a messiah fella, to my knowledge anyway, but I was willing to give him a chance just the same and most fans realised, he had to go. I'm all for stability, but with the right manager, hopefully Frank is the one.

So everyone excited for Lampard cause the media keeps telling us its between lamps and Vitor.

Great tactic get a candidate people universally unequivocally won't tolerate then they will all celebrate the apparently slightly better but still crap candidate.

They've paid close attention to the democratic/Republican 1 party system of the states model.

Not at all. The first thing he needs to do is get the players behind him and playing for him. Not easy but doable. He then needs to come up with a system that suits the players he has available. Again, not easy but doable. He needs a bit better luck with injuries and, ideally, he needs to bring in a couple of players to freshen things up and cover the injuries we have in midfield.

At the end of the day, expectations are lower than any other manager that's taken over since Moyes left. Survival. We're in a better position than the teams below us and, despite what you said, have a far better squad. Pretty much this same group of players were still in with a chance of top 4 with half a dozen games left last season. They aren't rubbish. Some of the are I agree but we have a top 8 first XI when fit and motivated.
It was a little joke, but I don't disagree with your reply

This is Everton we're talking about here.
Frank's had a night to mull things over. How many times have you done similar over issues.
I'll wait for an official announcement.

Those bringing up his ropey stats for Derby and Chelsea forget to realise they were his first jobs in football management. If you look at some of the great managers over the years, very few of them started off with great returns from the off. He’s young enough to learn from those jobs and improve as a manager with more experience.

He might not of course, nobody truly knows, but there’s every chance and it’ll be exciting to see how this pans out.

If it is him I’m happy. Finally a young hungry manager with something about him. Marco Silva was so bland he was never going to inspire anyone. The perpetual optimism of Martinez was utterly sickening. Hopefully we’ve got the balance right with Frank. My only hang up with him is that he can come across as a bit unpleasant at times. Maybe that’ll be a good thing?? I just look at Gerrard and as much as I can’t stand him (in a pantomime villain kind of way), he comes across as a very balanced assured individual and you can see why he made a good captain and manager. I’m just hoping that (just like they were viewed in the England team) we haven’t got the lesser of the two midfield generals of the English ‘golden age’.

Not that I would want gerrard, just to clarify. I’d rather they wheeled Woy in on a slab and said he was our new boss.

Couldn’t agree more.
Lampard is the result of an atrociously dismal manager search.
Good luck to him , I hope he can save as and produce good football in the process.
But this whole fiasco has finally confirmed how abysmally run our club is and destroyed for me any hope of better times ahead.
Unless we have a change of ownership our future continues to look bleak.

I hope Lampard can drill this into our midfielders: SHOOT.

He scored tonnes of belters from 20+ yards, whereas we mostly fanny around and end up gifting away possession.

Damarai shown he's capable against Arsenal, Townsend clearly isn't afraid to do so, so hopefully we can score more from range or at least create more chances for DCL or Richi from our midfielders testing the goalkeeper.
We've scored plenty of 20 yard belters this season. They are the reason we have what little points we do.

What he needs to drill into the team is pressing and passing.

Yeah, exactly. What are his qualifications to be our manager? Eddie Howe he a better record!

I'm not reading over 50 pages at this time at night. Has anything substantive happened yet, or have they moved onto role playing games ?
Suffer with the rest of us you bugger.

However if Frankie boy turns it down this morning after 'carefull thought' prepare for rioting.

This absolutely.
I can only add that obviously he is an intelligent man which means that he can analyze and adapt unlike the fossil we have just sacked.
I am 100% behind him.
