I would still love to have Potter and his progressive modern system based style that doesn't fall apart with a few injuries. Possession based, chance creation. Yes I'm still banging the Potter drum since the manager hunt but I doubt he'd come to us now. Besides I think Moshiri only wants managers that have won something(no matter how long ago) and not managers that will win things in future. Palace, Villa and Brighton will all be above us come May if we keep the dinosaur so I'd take anyone with a desire to improve both the players and himself

If we go for Potter then we should get their technical director Dan Ashworth.

Ruben Amorim would be a dream and I think our current squad with afew additions is set up for a 343 but he would cost too much

Why didn't we go for Conte when he was free

Would love Amorim...probably cost £15-20mil to buy him out of his contract.

But i dont have any issues with that at all...we should be spending money on the next superstar manager as well as the next superstar players.

Lest face it lads, we’ll end up with Mourhino on £60M a year who will bankrupt us within a season then get us relegated to division twenty twelve!

Roberto Martinez.

Unpopular amongst some too thick to accept that 2 semi finals in one season with a tiny squad, half of them on their last legs was some achievement.

Beaten by a single goal in both by the 2 most expensive squads in the country.

Add best season in the EPL era with great football.

If only he’d been given half of what that **** Koeman wasted….

He bought McGeady and Cleverley and after the one good transfer window he had getting Barry/McCarthy/Rom/Del was an absolute disaster in the transfer market. He described absolutely gash players like Cleverley as special players, was deluded in his pressers to the point he was unwatchable, and couldn’t set up a team to defend a set piece to save his life.

He’d of taken us down given enough time.

Arguably the only man in football more likely to cause the fanbase to split than Benitez

The contrick still being used to suggest that, post-Benitez, we'll get a decent new manager in rather than the reality of the Galloot.

Laughable.

McGeady and Cleverley were both out of contract. That was the market we were operating in and I can see the thinking behind them both.

McGeady was an exciting young talent at Celtic who can whip in a good ball and has gone on to get lots of assists at a lower level. Admittedly it didn't work out but when you haven't got a pot to piss in and you're looking for free transfers only, it was worth a punt.

Cleverley came in for nothing and has gone on to be a regular premier league player. We also made an £8 million profit on him.

There's plenty to kick Martinez for and he'd be pretty low down the list of choices for me but those 2 signings aren't really it.

Niasse on the other hand........

Frankly I still think we should sue him for that one
