Who's your money on in the takeover 'battle'?

I condem him. He failed to apologise for 14 January 2023 for starters.

Then claimed they were working to a "plan" financing the stadium.

Does it appear like that was the case to you given the 9 months of 777 Partners we just experienced?

Really?
I don’t mind Chong, think he has stepped in when no others would and he has at least liaised with fan groups.

However that statement when we got 4 points back still leaves a bitter taste.

If Roma are gatecrashing the Big 3 of Inter, Juventus and Milan again there's no way TFG wouldn't be looking to prioritise spending on them. That's just natural.

IMO we're more likely to be used as a cash cow to fund a tilt at Serie A and Europe for their 'flagship' club-company.

This has the potential to get very nasty and messy.
Only so much they can spend though with the new financial rules for European competition. So they’ll have money for both.
I think this lot have enough money to massively improve Everton while carrying on the good work they’ve been doing for Roma.

The on time delivery of the stadium, to date, is the opposite of everything else this club has experienced over the last decade plus. Quite remarkable to observe. Noted that LOR are a hugely experienced professional third party and that there are various other engineering, project management specialists involved in delivery and execution but someone from the club has to be available to be accountable for decisions from time to time as circumstances change during the build. The previous shower were focused on charity, ESL and other distractions beyond the task in hand. Not aware of anyone else beyond Chong being present to do just this and for that and while being pushed into an interim CEO role too, he deserves credit.

What did you expect? He was (and is) still working for the owner who caused the issues and operating under massive constraints. Of course he could have condemned everyone, told a “truth” you would personally approve, taken his ball home in a huff and left the lady from the ticket office overseeing the club and stadium build. Would that have impressed you?

FWIW at the time he made his comment on headlock gate he likely did not have all the information now in the public domain. He has made it clear to FAB and others privately (he still works for Moshiri remember) that he regrets how the fans were portrayed. On our long list of problems he is right at the bottom but when Moshiri is gone I agree it would be nice if he/ the club would publicly set the record straight.

The money that can be earned from success in the Premiership is far greater than any other league.

All the investors who were trying to buy the club knew that and understood that the new ground provides an opportunity in the longer term to turn Everton FC into a very valuable asset. In time it can be worth far more than Roma.

First, the club has to stable financially , the ground has to be completed.

A team will have to be slowly through the academy and the purchase of young talented players, I think the days of spending huge money and wages on older players is now long gone. Yes, we may sign older players to bulk out the squad on short term contracts but in time we will no longer need to do this.

It is to our advantage that Friedkin has probably already made his mistakes at Roma and hopefully has learned from them.

Yeah I mean you'd have to be incredibly unlucky to run into another Moshiri... Surely? 😅

If they stabilise our finances and invest to turn us into a cash cow I will be very happy. I’d be more worried if I were a Roma fan…but as I say they will look to improve all their holdings….

It’ll just be a relief to have some stability and people in place to run the club properly. We’re currently a rudderless ship with no captain. Current owner who isn’t putting another penny in, and people promoted in to roles that they shouldn’t be in. We need this rubber stamped ASAP to start the recovery process.

If that was the plan, we can only become a cash cow when we've massively turned around our own fortunes.

At that point, I suspect the power of the Premier League might have more pull.

Each to their own, but I see it more positively than negatively, and I'm very much glass half empty.

Big shout out to Dave prentice. Comms has been fantastic over last couple years.
Stealing a living just like a few at the club who were in it for their own best interests

Hopefully sooner rather than later a fresh reset will come with what one can only hope will be some better placed individuals qualified for the roles that can kick the club on off the pitch
