"Why Are Barcelona So Annoying?"

So Barcelona are above criticism? If their style of play is not - despite what you get forced down your throat by the 'experts' - to your liking; and their version of the People's Club bluster is met by indifference...that's just wrong is it?

It's like you cant deviate from the herd. All hail Barcelona and their midget triangle passers playing for the honour of Catalunya.

Do me a favour. The blogger might have had his tongue in cheek on one or two things, but I think he strikes a chord. I know I was delighted to see them beaten by Inter and many more were too.

Last season's team was on a different level, the loss of Eto'o and the signing of Zlatlan has made then a little more one dimensional. They don't have the pace and directness of Henry and Zlatlan, for all his qualities, isn't a player who stretches teams and creates space. They'll probably sort that out with David Villa though. I think there football is fantastic, it's fast, intelligent and entertaining. Gerard Pique plays from the back, Dani Alves and Eric Abidal are fullbacks who act as touch line hugging wingers, Xavi and Iniesta are two of the best footballers in world football, Messi is given the freedom of the pitch and everything is practiced and thought out, you can tell they are a well coached team, which isn't always the case with top draw players, as the likes of Real Madrid have proven.

But why though? Do they deserve to get beaten because they are good? They deserve all the plaudits they get.

I think the blogger is pathetic, and it's typical that you believe he has struck a chord. What were you like in 85 when Everton were probably the best team in Europe?

Deviate from the herd? I watch Barcelona play all season, and have been astonished by some of the football that has been played by the best team in the world, with the best player in the world.

Unbelievable that this tripe has even got to page 3.

They have produced the best teams. That is undisputed mate.

Not saying they haven't had a huge impact on football. They certainly produced some amazing talents throughout the years and had some outstanding teams. However, I have a feeling they get a lot of protection from within the Fifa ranks and a lot of the time they have been build up much bigger than they are.

Protection? From who? Are Fifa running some kind of rackateering?

He - and davek - definately have a point that they have been somewhat overhyped - to the point of being described as the best side ever - by parts of the media (probably because they were underhyped by the same parts of the media when they played Chelsea and especially Utd in the CL final last year), and a lot of what surrounds the club is pompous [Poor language removed] (in addition to what has already been said, the "motivational" t-shirts prior to the Inter home game would probably be a step too far in being crass, even for the RS).

That said, you are right that they are a great side, by some distance the best in Europe this season and they do possess three or four of the top ten players in the world.

Do you know what I think of the media? **** all, not interested in anything a journo has to say because they are under orders to sell newspapers first and then formulate a valid opinion 2nd.

If the media are hyping up Barcelona, it's usually for a reason. 6 trophies last season, Messi, beating Madrid and all their millions, twice.

I think they probably deserve to have some kind of recognition.

They are on the verge of having one of the best teams in decades. They COULD dominate European football for many a year. IF they sign Fabregas, that midfield is going to be unstoppable.

I can't wait to watch them. I'll be there enjoying it with maybe the goattee one serving me tapas and san miguel, whilst Davek and the load who wrote this article are having an angry-face-off.

I like to watch any team who play as they do. I have nothing but respect for the way they try to do things.
