why are we so dull to watch?

The annoying lump it forward kick off, the dilly dally short passing in our own box from a goal kick, pushing the centre backs forward for a throw in..
We are a Frankenstein of a team, taking parts that might work elsewhere and stitching them together into something that barely functions.

We need to find our own identity next season.

Bar Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan teams managed by Italian mangers are generally not a good watch. Being risk averse comes naturally to Italians with their emphasis on being watertight defensively.

Even Carlo’s Milan team with a prime Kaka and Pirlo were more machine-like than eye catching. The Italians are responsible for the Brazil national team adopting a more pragmatic, defensive Italian style after Tele Santana’s majestic ‘82 Brazil side of Zico, Socrates, Eder, Falcao lost to the smash and grab Italians. Brazil unfortunately then went for the Italian ethos of success over style. The Brazil team that went on to win the ‘94 World Cup with Dunga as captain are not loved in Brazil, but the ‘82 team is.

Mourinho is also from the Italian school of pragmatism, and the stuff his teams have churned out is largely forgettable.
If the Brazilians decided to copy the Italian ethos, I think the Brazilians are responsible.

IMO the ‘82 Brazilians were as good as the 1970 vintage.

It is a shame they never won it that year.

No fast wingers, crap midfield when not first choice, slow thinking, poor passing players. No set style of play due to personnel available
