£20,000 is less than an average wage for a championship player these days, you do realise that Wigan are in the championship along with plenty of other impoverished clubs these days.

I think the mark of a good manager, is getting the most out of your resources, dealing with potentially awkward players and keeping them on side, if in the long run that will benefit the team. Benitez has failed the test, big time here.

No matter how many different ways you dice it, this club is all the poorer for not having Rodriguez. When you take over a squad with poor depth, the last thing you do, is drive out one of your very few players of genuine quality.

Yes. Really missing some real quality injuries/rests due to calf itches there. He's lighting up the world class league over in Qatar ain't he.
