My local Nature Reserve next to my flat have requested today for frogspawn as they hD non on the ponds there for years.Frogspawn in my neighbours pond. Digging a small pond ourselves at Easter
He popped back the next day (Wednesday), but haven’t seen him since.

Not 'quite' true. Many of the frogs who spawned there will be living happily in nearby ponds/streams. They do return to the general area and head towards the same pond, BUT if they stumble across a suitable site en route they will happily spawn there. This is why it's not necessary to 'stock' a newly dug garden pond with frog spawn.
