Everton fans: we need to sign young attackers who have played lots of games in the championship, maybe even some prem and international experience and ideally they’ll have pace and score goals

Also Everton fans: not that one!!!

Everton fans: We need to sign players with potential before they become the next big thing.

Also Everton fans: Stats are disappointing.

Just asked my mate for a revised opinion on him, after gauging his opinion last summer. He’s a Leeds season ticket holder and a pretty thoughtful kind of football fan.

He says:

To be honest similar to last year… he was injured for half the season, had one really hot month in about Jan where he carried us entirely, but tended to lose his starting place to Dan James and was mostly a sub… there’s real potential there though, just needs time to nurture it, Leeds fans are desperate to offload him though and get in someone more for the here and now.

He got 8 goals in a team that finished 3rd and got nearly record points in the championship, we were hoping for double that to match Summerville on the other wing… tough call! Maybe a change of scenery will do him well

So not a ringing endorsement… but then, he will hardly have endeared himself to Leeds fans with his attempt to force a move to us last summer.

Modern football fan:
What is the contract length?
Has anyone confirmed the amortisation profile?
Have Leeds got a sell on clause or a buyback price?
What are his wages?
When are the cash flows due?
What are the conditions for the add ons?

Normal person:
Is he any good at football?

Bring back the xG's, they better than the accounters

He did only play half the minutes that Summerville did tbf. So he did match the pace

Summerville did start twice as many games as Willie and is 2 years older. I wouldn’t use the base stats as an argument. The performances are a fair thing to call out- Willie certainly wasn’t as engaged for them last year. Injury, attitude, etc.

Yes we do UTFT!

You have to wonder what Thelwell’s thought process is when it comes to a few of these players. We desperately need end product. To be fair our situation makes it a lot harder recruiting but still, this is were our scouting comes in. I’m not sure what they see in bringing Jack Harrison back either. Couldn’t that loan space be used on someone more productive?

Also concerned about his injury record if that is remotely an accurate description (can’t be bothered looking at his injury record). Anyway let’s see what happens.

I'm putting 0 weight into the opinion of that bozo managing Italy btw. Mancini picked him 12 times after winning a euros. The jabroni who guided them straight out in the groups didn't select him at all.

The worry with him is he got a cob on for most of the season because he didn’t get the move wanted which prob hampered him with Italy, that’s a worry professionally, as he’d do the same to us.

That said how responsible are we for his cob last season, if Branthwaite kicked off for a move to Utd, then played with a questionable attitude the following season, how would w3 feel about Utd.

We’re Leeds’s, Utd.

Just asking him about the injuries - and if he thought he was over them. They were multiple as opposed to one long injury, apparently:

Could be, he was back playing at the end of the season… there was some speculation it was a carry over of him not wanting to play in the championship that meant there seemed to be lots of frequent knocks… but also being a tricky winger at the level does mean you’ll get kicked to bits by the less talented Championship defenders!
