Transfer Rumour Wilifred Gnonto

Not going to lie, I'm very excited at the prospect of signing Gnonto, and I'll now be disappointed if we don't.
Im not sure I want to sign him after watching his vids, he gets fouled A LOT, with these new time-wasting rules we could be looking at games at Goodison lasting 3 hours.

Mancini's Italy play 433. They are not very good.

It would have made more sense for Everton to sign Gnonto if they were a more offensive team, if they played with wingers and of they had a plan on how to play with the ball. When plan A, B and C are long balls out from the back and offensive players spending most of the time deep into their own half, Gnonto is a strange fit.

Allardyce is defensive minded. Dyche even more so.
Chicken and egg though, you can’t be an attacking team without attacking players, but you can’t buy attacking players if you aren’t an attacking team.

🤯🤯🤯

Point is that Allardyce mostly watching Leeds highlights rave about Gnonto. Allardyce watching him in training and throughout matches not so much.

There is a reason why Leeds without competition could sign Gnonto from the Swiss league for 4 million less than a year ago. There is a reason why thee hardly has been reported interest for him this summer.
Similar to Dyche, Allyrdyce went to Leeds and made a quick assessment of what was in the squad and decided on how he thought he might best some points from the remaining games. As it happens he was wrong but his choice at that stage was not to pick the best team but a team to defend and hope to pick up something while not losing.... it just didn't work this time.

Dyche did the same at Everton , decided on what might work best to get the club safe, it is just that he had a good number of games left and was able to tweak the team to get us where we needed to be.

But with more attacking players we might get more displays like the one at Brighton last season and with better finishes more goals from the chances that were created last season!

Perhaps the reason we are buying wingers and pacy/technical forwards is to play with the ball a bit more and switch it up? Gnonto fits both models of us playing on the counter and playing with the ball.

Allardyces opinion on an attacking player doesn't suit his expertise so I wouldn't pay attention to his take on gnonto, but if Allardyce recommended a sandwich shop I know that place is quality and I'm heading there immediately

There is that!

I absolutely do not class myself as any sort of scout. I'm incredibly myopic in my football watching. I barely care about how the other team are playing against Everton, let alone spend much time analysing games we're not involved in.

But I did notice Gnonto last season. So much so that I started to worry that Leeds were going to pull away from us.

I think he might be good.

I was slightly concerned with his end product, didnt really see the digits that made me excited, but honestly, after watching a few vids he looks a very exciting player, the type that pushes the ball up field quickly. Im not fan of Adama, but he does the same thing, the hope is that the lad is the right age and he has lot of growth.

So... I'm definitely not vouching for this info, just passing along.

As some of you know, I work in the Liver Building. My boss is 100% convinced he saw Gnonto getting out of a big dark blue merc outside the building this morning, as he was arriving for work. My first thought was why would he be here rather than FF, but I suppose there could potentially be some logic as there'll be a lot of press around for the final training before the season starts...

I'm skeptical, but thought I'd pass it on.
what about Gnonto should train in the morning ? besides all the terms are discussed by an agent, so unless he has a twin brother as his agent it is high up the worst links on GOT ever lol

Yeah, he has a good shot on him for a little bloke, too, I think - and he's got a similar stockiness to Adama.

I just checked his Wikipedia to find out what his height actually is, but that has him down as a 4ft 9 Everton player at the moment so will maybe check back later once the powers that be have straightened it back out!
