Transfer Rumour Wilifred Gnonto

So... I'm definitely not vouching for this info, just passing along.

As some of you know, I work in the Liver Building. My boss is 100% convinced he saw Gnonto getting out of a big dark blue merc outside the building this morning, as he was arriving for work. My first thought was why would he be here rather than FF, but I suppose there could potentially be some logic as there'll be a lot of press around for the final training before the season starts...

I'm skeptical, but thought I'd pass it on.

….could be, thanks for passing on. There are reports in the press he’s already been shown around FF.

Can we all please remember that people will be vaulted when, in two years time, he refuses to play against Tranmere in a pre-season friendly while trying to force a £45m move to Newcastle.

Mad take this like.

Because he was picked up at a very young age for a good price he's not any good?
I just find the whole thing odd.

Top Italian talent does not leave Inter's academy as a 16 year old to sign for a Swiss club.

He did fine for Zurich and Mancini called him up to the national team to have a look at him. He got four caps for Italy last summer. As an 18 year old. Every Italian club should be all over him. There are clubs in Germany, Belgium, Portugal and France that are experts on picking these kind of players to sell them on with massive profits after a year or two.

Why was Gnonto in Switzerland until deadline day? Why was he sold for 4 million? Why did he end up at Leeds? With all the scouting tools and videos available we should assume more than a hundred clubs checked him out before he signed for Leeds.

This summer we have seen lots of interest for Leeds players. Kristensen is loaned to Roma. Roca is loaned Real Betis. Wober, Koch and Aaronson are loaned to good Bundesliga clubs. I can't recall to have seen much interest for Gnonto.

My best guess is that Gnonto currently is on a contract he signed when he was a cheap 18 year old and refuse to be loaned out because he hopes he can 4x or 5x his salary if he is sold. And that no clubs outside Premier League are willing to pay what Leeds are willing to sell for. Even there Everton seems to be the only club showing real interest.

High wages are the only reason we make signings.

That sounds bang on. I have seen from multiple sources that Gnonto is on very low wages hence Leeds are happy to keep him in the Championship. Taking it a step further that clubs outside the PL can't afford the Leeds asking price makes sense so that only leaves a few clubs in the PL as suitors. I have read that West Ham may have an interest and for about a month he has been linked with us but the Everton soundbites do appear to be the strongest

Mancini's Italy play 433. They are not very good.

It would have made more sense for Everton to sign Gnonto if they were a more offensive team, if they played with wingers and of they had a plan on how to play with the ball. When plan A, B and C are long balls out from the back and offensive players spending most of the time deep into their own half, Gnonto is a strange fit.

Allardyce is defensive minded. Dyche even more so.

Not one thing youve written here makes sense to me. Disagree with everything.

Who has said that?

My biggest memory of him last season was his row with Coleman after we beat them at Goodison.

The clip of his best moments does look worthwhile.

Was it actually a row? I barely remember, thought it was more of a chat.

Get the fella from Iceland back I say.

Nah Dyche loves wingers even more than he loves Kasabian
