IMO we lack nous/ability to navigate transfer markets - Thelwell as far as I can see has never had the responsibility he has at Everton. Mendes ran the show at Wolves and don't get me started on Kenwright.

Spot on, tbh every club has their fair share of transfers that go wrong, ours though just seem chaotic.

Then why haven't Everton ascertained what that fee is, and either paid it or moved on? We've clearly underestimated their resolve or just ignored them. It's their prerogative to not sell - Everton have to move on quicker.

The failure to do so has left us where we are now.
 

The kid was absolutely desperate to come here last week. If he's put off by one bad performance then i'd think twice now about trying to get the deal done. He's not exactly been professional this summer.
 
If everton really want the kid they need to change the narrative in the press and feed their own/gnotos narrative to them.
Leeds were relegated not gnonto, he is an Italian international who want to hold that place by playing in a top league.
He is a 19 year old kid who has started 14 premier league games for leeds, Everton are offering them a 600% mark up on what they paid for him, that's fair in anyone's book.
Gnonto is being made the villain here but it's leeds who should are the villians...

The way some of our fans have behaved towards our players of late... I really can't blame the lad.

Much of our fanbase has become toxic. The lynchmob mentality against Yerry when his car was surrounded a few months ago, the attack on Anthony Gordon etc. It's all so counter-productive.
