Will we need 40 points ?

The optimist in me is believing we will beat Spurs and draw against Utd, but deep down I fear two defeats are on the cards for us.

Our remaining games are...

H - Tottenham Hotspur
A - Manchester United
H - Fulham
A - Crystal Palace
H - Newcastle United
A - Leicester City
A - Brighton & Hove Albion
H - Manchester City
A - Wolverhampton Wanderers
H - AFC Bournemouth

The games in green are the ones I'm confident of getting three points from, the ones in orange I think we could get a point at best, and the ones in red I think will be losses. So around nine to twelve points, which would give us what? 35 to 38 points at the end of the Season?

Mind you Leicester City will no doubt have a new manager in place to give them a boost by the time that fixture comes around, so they could become a lot harder to beat. And yes, I do realise that I have us winning none of our remaining home games:eek:

I think we’ll beat Fulham at home with Mitro suspended, think we might get something tomorrow night too. Also Spurs and Newcastle are night games at home and I think that makes a big difference!

If the teams arround us keep picking up points then we could need a higher total than we think. Untill theres 3 teams all struggling below us, the total for safety isnt known. My guess is it's going to the wire.

Considering 13th place in the league right now is on pace for 36 points.......

We definitely need 50.
50, no chance! 50 would probably put us 11th or 12. 42 points is the most anyone has ever been relegated with and we would be massively unlucky to get relegated with 42. Anything more that that would be a PL record. ll bet my money that 40 will have us safe and im guessing with our tough run in we will get between 41 and 44. So its all still to close to call.

Its always easy to say we wont get anything against City, Man u, Newcastle, Totenham etc. Id place a bet that we pick up some points in some of those games, (hopefully Totenham tonight) and probably lose one of the green ones.

My point is there is always an elememt of radomness to it all.

I think it will go to the wire, and I don’t think 36 points will necessarily be enough. I can see more than one side finishing on 36 points and it going to goal difference.

Yeah absolutely, nobody thought we’d lose at home to Southampton, Wolves and Leicester and definitely nobody thought we’d beat Arsenal and few felt good about beating an in form Brentford.

Plenty of twists and turns to come, hopefully starting tonight with a huge three points at home!

Help a brother out here … I’m colour blind so have no idea what your predictions are

4 wins will do it I think, 38 points, but it will be nervy, I would rather we get to 40 and be well out of it. I have a bad feeling we will go into the final game, against Bournemouth, needing a result, which is an awful position to be in. We have 3 home games on the spin, so need to get as much as we can out of them. If we could get 6 points out of those 3 it would set us up nicely with 7 games left and probably only needing 2 more wins.

I would be more confident of getting sommat at Old Trafford and indeed beating both Spurs and Barcodes than I would be of getting a win at Brighton.

Of those ten fixtures, City at home and Brighton away are the only two I really fear.
