Don't like some England fans, but lots to like about the team itself I think

Crappy "Hendo" is finally gone, and there's lots of diversity amongst the squad itself, with lots of very talented footballers in there too

Plus, Big J Pickers is the keeper, so every Evertonian has someone to cheer on even if they aren't a big fan of the England side itself

Also, despite him coming across as a bit of a dullard at times, Southgate doesn't seem like a bad guy and the players clearly like and respect him, so I can't wish anything ill on him

He does get paid £5m a year to be unbelievably bad at his job though. His comments regarding the media reaction to the performances is complete out of touch in my opinion. He starting to sound like Rishi Sunak when he's interviewed.

It’s not like Southgate is a bad guy or anything, he just strikes me as the sort of chap who would put his phone into Low Power mode as soon as the battery drops to 99%.

TBH I don't think he ever even takes it off charge in the first place.

True but on this occasion I think the ones that are tits are the ones defending Southgate and claiming performances in the group stages don't matter.

Appreciate he’s probably under performing with this group of players (despite getting to the final (I think Spain will win comfortably) but I don’t get this view of him being bad at his job. He’s qualified for every tournament (not all previous managers can say that) and has achieved a World Cup QF & SF and 2 x Euro Finals…..that’s better than any other English manager. His record is decent in major tournaments without winning one.
