Transfer Rumour William Carvalho

Not sure blowing £35m on a slow centre mid is a great idea, and I barely noticed him playing at the Euros except from his 80's porno stache. I'm assuming that's why he has it, or people would just miss him entirely.

Has just won the Euros etc etc if he does sign he gets my full support as does any player that pulls on the royal blue.

Joao Mario impressed me though, I'd like him.

So how credible is this rumour? Is it one isolated Portugese journo looking for a lazy work day or has anybody heard anything from Evertons end?

Manager of Portugal trusts him to do the role in order to win the Euros. Manager of Sporting Lisbon trusts him to do it in the champions league. We have doubts about him doing a role we've entrusted to 35 year old Barry in consecutive seasons that we've come 11th? I really don't think it's an issue. If experience was crucial all these top sides would have 35 year olds all over the place. They don't though.

Totally different pace of the game compared to European and International tournaments mate compared to the Prem.

Look, I'm not saying he's a bad player, and if RK wants him it's fine by me and I'd welcome him with open arms. Just have my doubts is all.

Carvalho's main asset is his positioning.

Yes, but the pace of the Prem is different mate is my point, meaning he'd have to adjust his positioning quicker than he does internationally or in Portugal.

I'm not against signing him at all, would be a decent buy I think, but at £35mil it would be a bit steep. If we get him though then that's alright by me.

The links I've seen suggest a fee around the 20m mark. But I doubt we would get him for that.

Dunno if that is as true as it once was though mate, think originally that sprung up for the first few waves of foreign players who came (notably Veron from memory struggled due to that), whilst the league itself was mainly made up of british players brought up in the hussle and bustle style, these days half the teams have a majority of spanish, dutch, italian and south american/african players who have all learnt there trade abroad before arriving.

Think nowadays it's just one of those footy myths, like two small for the premiership etc etc etc

The fact that we might run up another several hundred pages talking about another player to see it just fizzle out at the end chills me to the bone.

So I will take my own advice and leave now.
