2.6 tackles & 1.4 interceptions per game in the Euros isn't shocking.
Mate can you throw up a comparision of the stats of him and Witsel in the tournament, i hate using squawka etc

Well no cos its the 1 thing I noticed watching the games, he honestly never tackles.
Im not saying hes a bad player, I just said he had a very strange style, he doesnt press, he just jogs around the pitch spraying passes all over the place, he has a vast and very accurate passing range, but he doesnt press people and from what ive seen he avoids tackling.

Think so mate, not sure he'd make much of a footballer otherwise.Has this got legs?

Yeh Witsel was 1.4 tackles / 2 interceptions
To be fair to those knocking this lad.
He is only young and you are talking about him as if he is the finished product. Oh he doesn't do this, oh he doesn't do that.
How about signing him and teaching him that and actually coach him into a better player?
I missed the new footballing rule that players are the finished product at 21, Last time I checked they were still at the beginning of their careers
He's 24 isn't he? Saying that i think he's a class act, seems to time interceptions very well and almost never loses the ballTo be fair to those knocking this lad.

Carvalho is a player who sits back most of the time tackles standing up and intercepts + acts as a kind of recycling player as a get out for others to pass back to and switch the play...gets forward as well but not so often.
Isnt Witsel still box to box and even if playing DM carries the ball forward? Seem totally different to me and different roles....?
Yeah to me neither Witsel or Carvalho are what I call a proper DM, your James McCarthy, Gareth Barry types, its great tho, dont get me wrong, we miss creativity and plays in the middle of the park that can pick a forward pass, slightly harsh cos Gaz Baz aint bad at passing, but him and jamo, under Martinez granted, both favour the 2 yard sideways pass.
If we can get the blend right and keep Besic in the side I dont even care.
