Transfer Rumour William Carvalho

Carvalho is a very good player, i am in total agreement.
Gareth Barry has won the premier league, which is no easy task in any side.
Cant be one rule for one...

I'm not saying he's never been a good player. He won the prem 5 years ago? I think there's value keeping him around the squad but he can't be first choice anymore if we want to seriously compete, you must agree with that?

Thought I'd wandered into a We Hate Gareth Barry thread for a minute.
Back on topic, William Carvalho is the best player we've been linked with under the new regime. Get him now and he will be an asset to the club for another 10 years, during which time he will win multiple Premier League and Champions League titles.

Just off to take my medication.

Do people really not think that Barry needs replacing? He does a good job of recycling the ball, but he's the main reason why Everton concede the midfield battle more often than not.

This team has a soft centre that is in dire need of fresh blood.

He really isn't - that'd be Mr. Invisible himself, James McCarthy.

Barry has been one of our top three players every season he's been here since he arrived.

McCarthy is by far the poorer footballer of the two, but Barry's starting position is just as big of an issue - especially with Barkley standing up front.

Barry was a breath of fresh air in his first season, but the fact people continue to laud him is symptomatic of why Everton struggle. Too many of them get by on playing well within themselves, and no one takes responsibility for the consistently terrible results.

I think until we have purchased better he should play.
As soon as we have a better player in his position then he should be a squad player.
That's been the problem for me, we don't have better yet dafties like you shout for Gibson

Besic and Daz are better lol

while am on the fence with the argument, purely because Barry has been brilliant and in good condition - old man time is against him.

But I have to say Darron Gibson shouldn't even be involved in the argument, Barry has done more then him, been more valuable to us and appearances wise should show he isn't on the same playing field.

Literally, he can't get out the treatment room he is made of candy floss. We should have gotten rid when we had the chance, we will see him for 45 mins then hell be out for the season, again.

I think Gibson could still play a part for Everton. His passing range is still very good as is his positioning. If he can sort himself out then it's worth one last roll of the dice with him. After watching McCarthy Cleverley and Barry pretend to be allergic to forward passes for two seasons I'm willing to forgive a multitude of sins for a player who can hit a first time crisp ball into the striker.

He seems much more McCarthy like rather than Barry. Covers a lot of ground, breaks down play and can put in a good tackle however fails to do much when he's got the ball or the team is attacking.

The lad once had ability - but years of being injured, made of candy floss and rumoured (not counting his recent DUI) alcohol abuse he has flushed it down the toilet.

He will 100% spend more time on the treatment table then on the pitch this season, he has had too many roles of the dice now. 51 games in 5 seasons - totally earned that new contract.

Hoping we move him on still to be honest.
