Its less than any other player, and I think you have been listening to Roy Hodgeson too much.

What I do see, is a lad coming looking for the ball, and wanting to drive the team forward.

He is a wonderful player and need to be playing facing the play, and coming deepish.
 
We've seen Barkley play under an inept manage; people writing him off playing in centre mid completely are jumping the gun a little. He can learn it and I think this season we might see it. I mean he essentially played it on Saturday in that 4-1-4-1

He always drops back to collect the ball leaving a big gap between Lukaku and the midfield so may as well start him deeper.

This is the key for me. No mata who we buy, I think the team will be built around Ross, or set up for him to be a mssive part of it.

Ross can track and tackle, he did it on Saturday and has for England in every game. Clearly Martinez wanted him doing little off the ball.

He is perfect for the 4-3-3, IMO. Can play a bit of both then.

If our midfield is what @FTY has put in his post, then there'd be few complaints!

Yep, and throw in Mata to fill in that gap (with Del/Kev) on the other side and Rom up top and you've got a team on your hands.

I genuinely think that's the way RK is looking to go... obviously though there's no guarantee we'll get our primary targets in.

That's been my dream-team this season for the past few weeks.

Hopefully we get one and all the others fall into place.

Yeh it was. In the first half Gibson played further forward though, with Besic sitting. Didn't work as well though because Gibson just doesn't have the legs to get around the pitch, which is what's needed for that role.

I think Ross just needs to be allowed to play, with freedom and runners around and in front of him. I do think at times last season he was told not to worry about tracking back (at best) or that pressing without the ball wasn't important. It's no excuse but I can't really blame him for not doing it.

I don't think he has great intelligence, but I do think he has a good instinct for a game.
 
Have we heard anything recently to say where we are with this transfer, it seems to have all gone quiet?
