I went from 8 to 10, prefer it but then again a lot of the stuff I use it for is app related.
The windows 10 xbox app is very useful I find

Likewise.

Windows 7 is the new Windows XP though, it just works and does so brilliantly with no bugs (compared to Win10, for example if you're a gamer - some games don't work, graphic cards don't get detected and you have to go through system settings and all that etc).
Windows 7 is amazing for me. JUst wondering if I am missing anything not upgrading to 7. Clearly I am not :)

I'm in the same position. Using Windows 7. Keep getting the prompt but rejecting it.
I gave in to the constant prompting and went for it a few hours ago. Took about 90 minutes and went smoothly, everything is just as it was. I haven't fully explored the new features yet but you can customise the installation where I unchecked a lot of them anyway to see how it goes for a while.

keep us posted mate...you can be my guinea pig :)

I decided to give into the constant notifications (on Windows 7). Got an error code before it even installed so just sticking to 7 now haha

I upgraded from 7 to 10 and had no end of problems due to the upgrade install leaving loads of loose ends.

I did a fresh install of Win 10 and it was working perfect then.

(Upgrade) installs don't work well, do a fresh install and it should work fine.

That's what I have read in many reviews. That of course would involve a major operation of backing up and then reinstalling everything from the beginning.
You now find 10 superior to 7 or should I just stick with 7 in your opinion?

Like others have said, I wouldn't upgrade - I'd prefer to buy a new computer with Windows 10 when forced to.

So far have upgraded three machines (two laptops, one desktop). Both laptops switch into airplane mode occasionally and for no reason. All have issues with Windows Start button randomly refusing to work. One (not ancient) Sony Vaio apparently 'doesn't support' Windows 10.

Sound advice. Thanks.

The security that Windows 10 offers is worth the upgrade alone.
