Yeah think so mate it can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. I've lost corks etc and usually use folded kitchen roll as a makeshift cork and its by and large fine for a couple of days.

Red wine can be put in the fridge to keep longer too if anyone's not really aware. Sounds self explanatory but a lot of people have a "never chill a red" mindset. If you need to preserve it desperately, stick in the fridge and return to room temp before drinking as wished.
Following that thought, if you like an aperitif or cocktails (negroni :pint2: ) Rosso should be kept in the fridge once opened.

Natural Wine is a growing area akin to the Real Ale movement. Some good stuff being produced though I did get one once that smelt like the flatulence of a Wart Hog.

These retail them https://www.buonvino.co.uk/

Yeah, I have the £50 subscription here which is pretty good

For all alcohol lovers, be it grape or grain, the choice, quality and price of a really good tipple has never been so good...someone said earlier about Blue Nun or Black Tower being the earlier ubiquitous choices, I would throw in Red Barrel and Double Diamond beer to demonstrate the pure crap and lack of options we used to have back in the 60’s and 70’s for those with shallow pockets. I raise a glass of a cheap Pinot Grigio to all you lucky people, and god bless the brewers and growers......

Just started sampling Italian wines from the Puglia region and I can highly recommend Christian Patat Appassimento.

There’s a lot going on - tastes bloody lovely

But that’s the great thing isn’t it, Wine, Beer, Whisky, it’s all about the taste and everyone enjoys slightly different tastes. I remember having a meal with a couple of chaps and the red wine was like paint stripper. I think it was a merlot in name only, but it was terrible, yet one of our number insisted it was the finest red he’d ever tasted... the rest of us don’t let him order wine any more...funny old world........

Yup. Just like music, alcohol is a very personal taste. I do however take recommendations as opportunities to try new things. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t.
