But to be clear, much of the above could equally apply to Scotch or even beer. I used to drink a lot of wine, but now mostly just do it with the gal at local vinyards; this makes it more of an event and much less about the (local Virginia) wine, which is about as good or slightly better than a 15$ bottle you get a grocery store.

On some very hot summer days, you can't beat a chilled white or even rose for some occasions.

I'll guarantee you are over paying for your virginia wine. It's the same thing here in NY, you can get some really good semi dry, dry rieslings and Rose. But for the same price get a rose from Provence.

Try Bonanza or Conundrum. They're too more entry level bottles of wine by Caymus. Both pretty good for the 25 price point.

Also, if you like red zin's at all try prisoner. They've got a more affordable line out with a red blend and cab called unshackled. If you like red zin's the prisoner blend is great as well as saldo by them.
Nice one mate will give them a go.

My dad loves some of these 'Jam Shed' or jammy wines. They are awful and don't even taste like wine. Just a sweet sticky mess.

He always used to bring them over when my parents could come for dinner lol

is it true so called experts couldnt tell the difference between cheap plonk and expensive stuff, during blind tests?

As with a lot of high end things, is as much the scarcity etc as it is the taste.

A lot of the really expensive wines never even get drank, just traded. They hold their value well apparently, especially now with China getting involved.

I definitely prefer white, actually prosecco.
For some reason red gets to my head, it even gives me blackouts so weird.
For me I find prosecco a bit sweet. Cava is generally readily available and tends to be drier in my experience, which I prefer. Also love Cremant, France's not so secret alternative in the bubbly world.

I like that 19 crimes, it’s sound cheap aswel.
The 19 Crimes Chardonnay is a stonker!
You can pick it up for £7 a bottle in Spar.
It really is a superb tasting wine.
Also, as a side note, if you look on the cork after
you have pulled it out it has one one of the 19 crimes
that criminals got deported to Australia for on it.
You can also download an App that brings the person
on the bottle label to life and they explain why they got
deported. They also do a version of the red wine called
'The Uprising' which really is excellent. In terms of value
for money I reckon the 19 Crimes is right up there.

My preferred Red is an Australian Shiraz, but Merlot, Rioja or Malbec are also decent.
New Zealand Sauvignon blancs are a nice white wines, did a wine tasting tour of Waiheke Island off Auckland and could've spent an month there easily!

Ah that’s class that mate, never noticed that. Will have a look next time defiantly.

The uprising is the one I’ve had now and again.
