This team can get us silverware. So organised and it looked that the players followed Silvas instructions.

Here's my opinion about the performances ;

Pickford ; 7. steady change just a week after coming back from vacation.
Coleman ; 7. Could have scored instead of a misplaced passing.
Keane; 8. His best game for ages. More commanding than in the past.
Jagielka ; 6. I still belive he got on the ball first.
Baines ; 8. More attacking minded and had a good understanding with Richardilson.
Schneiderline; 7. He is best when Everton must defend.
Guyue ; 8. He was everywhere
Richardilson ; 9. I've ikke give him a 10 if he had passed the ball to Walcott, when 2:1.
Walcott ; 8. Very gifted player and unlucky that he didn't get the ball from both Tuson and Richardilson.
Sigurdsson ; 6. Good game but was withdrawn when Jagielka got wrongfully the red card.
Tosun ; 6. Worked very hard for the team, but didn't get any chances. Should have passed to Walcott in the 2:1 situation.
Holgate ; 7. Solid and didn't rush into situations in the box.
Niasse ; Could have scored if Coleman had passed a better ball.
Silva ; 9. Excellent management of the game

Gueye was a donkey today. He can't pass the ball. He needs to be dropped.

Pickford - 7 - Mistake for the first, made up for it in the second half.

Coleman - 7 - Very good defensively, should have found Niasse at the end.
Jagielka - 5 - Bad mistake, punished. Shouldn't have been a red. Don't think he'll get back in the team any time soon down to the options we now have.
Keane - 7 - Played well with our backs against the wall in a deep line.
Baines - 7 - Ditto Coleman, but looked good going forward as well.

Schneiderlin - 6 - Sloppy first half, improved after that - a bit like Keane, much better when we're sitting deeper and he doesn't have to run. Bin for Gomes.
Gueye - 7 - Got about well, poor on the ball, covered the ground and made some great tackles. Typical Gana.

Walcott - 6 - Got into some really good positions and on three occasions should have been picked out. Defended well.
Sigurdsson - 6 - Put himself about, neat interplay at times but too often we skipped out the midfield or he wasn't involved. Subbed off out of necessity, though.
Richarlison - 8 - The lad's gonna be a star. Great finish for the second, instinct for the first. Should have had two assists.

Tosun - 6 - Good link up play, poor finish for that chance when he should have passed to Walcott. Needs to get into the box more.

Niasse - 6
Holgate - 7
Digne - n/a

Silva - 7

Agree with this given the circumstances, but probably would've had the two centre halves on 7 each. Keane because he was caught out with the second despite a solid performance; Jags because he was doing well and the red was ridiculous.

For me it's probably a red. I'm more annoyed that Jagielka gave the ref the decision to make. Overall we kept plugging away and some really good performances. This side will only get better, too. Under Allardyce we'd have camped in our own half and not set foot in theirs, so a big improvement all over. When we look back we'll probably all agree this was a good point.
I can't agree on it being red, yellow at worst. But it was annoying that he made an instant decision to call it red without giving himself any thinking time. He showed how he makes rash decisions when he booked Richarlison for a fairly innocuous foul but a few minutes later failed to produce a card for an identical foul on Richarlison. A poor referee but well up to Premier League standards it seems.

Look at the difference between Moutinho today and Gueye, the latter has zero composure.

I don't think Moutinho would be very good at covering every inch of grass and regaining possession, though, which is what Gueye is good at.

Apples and oranges.

Gueye is an excellent player for that particular role. The crux is we need a player next to him who can control a game. We thought it would be Schneiderlin, but he's bombed.

So, hopefully in Gomes, we have that player now.

Jags, you stupid boy.

It was never a red though. (Also Kure, I love your avatar! I hated how Fairy Tail ended up, but Erza is boss. She was the only reason I read it.)

I would prefer to see Gomes and Morgan after today's performance.

The team spirit is back, which looks good. I thought Keane did very well today until the mistake for their second goal, which puts a blemish on his overall performance. Schneiderlin looked alright as well, much more composed than Gueye in the middle of the park who I feel, will soon lose his place to Andre Gomes.

When you say 'mistake' what judgement are you applying? It was a phenomenal cross and Keane was straining to get to it. It was also a staggeringly good header. If you're going to sit there and say that was Keane's mistake or fault, I challenge you to get anywhere near it.

Pipe down.

Disappointed at the ref and on most other days it could have been so much better.

However considering the handicap of playing with ten men and sacrificing Gylfi, and with all the positives including the sparkling league debut of Richarlison and our new signings all still to come in, it has to be very acceptable.

Our prospects are really looking bright
