At worst, it's a booking, though, and moving the fk forward just adds further fume.

That being said, Pickford could have done better and ultimately it's Jags' sloppiness that has cost us.

Perfect challenge. Ball was cleanly won. Farcical decision. Not one person in the ground expected a red card. And yeah, if he can't work out where an alleged offence takes place then it's little surprise he makes awful decisions.

I agree that their quality has been exaggerated somewhat, but the lad - at 21 - looks a player.

He was at direct fault for our second. He smashed it in the championship but he's going to be coming up against Kante, Pogba, De Bruyne, Eriksen, Ramsey, and the Ndidi's (<I think he's a much better player at 21) of the world now. He's going to get blown out of the water. He will use this year to adapt and be better next year but he's not the player everyone is making him out to be.

True. But he does it on a consistent basis. I think he's a good interceptor but needs a great passer next to him.

Which is why him and Gomes will hopefully work as a partnership, which is what I was saying!

I really don't think he was even that poor in terms of his passing today, either. I mean, he wasn't great, but he never is. He looked to move it forward when he could - as opposed to Morgan who (despite playing okay) went sideways or backwards every time.

Annoying how they laughed off the position of the free kick issue there though. If he takes that from where the actual foul occurs he wouldn’t try and beat Pickford on his side, he’s much too far out.

Shearer was guilty of a number of those challenges and far worse in his career when he was wound up. Lineker as usual just sits on the fence and says nothing. Did he even play for us? Have we been eradicated from his CV?
