Thought we got away with it in the end. Probably our worst and most sloppy performance from what is our best 11 for quite a while. we had way too many players not at their best, maybe nerves got to them. Thought we looked a bit nervous and overcautious. Think the game will do our boys good. They learn from what they do wrong pretty quickly and come back stronger. And i wouldnt worry about all this moving the free kick 5 yards closer in. Neves would have found it easier from a bit further out. He doesnt do goals from inside the box!

As for sending off, we had one similar last year, and i dont particularly like or agree with the rule, but these days its a sending off everytime. You cant follow through, you cant raise your studs even if you win the ball. Like i said, i dont like it, but what can you do when they want to take tackling out of the game.

You lot looked pretty solid, and when you get your new signings in the side if you arent up there challenging strongly for a top 6-7 spot then you are underachieving massively. If you had another quality striker, i could actually see you pushing Spurs and Arsenal.

I guess it was nailed on that one of our two waste of space defenders would cost us the game today. So predictable it's unreal. Koff you fraud waste of space worst captain in our history ffs.

Big game that for Wolves first game back in the prem, bound to be a lot of nerves.
You had 4 new players in so bound not to be as fluent as normal, thought you played ok , one or two at the back don't look premiership standard on that performance, the full backs were getting pinned back to easy if Walcott had been fully fit , it could have been a bit more of a problem for you.
On the plus side the team looked well drilled , some good quality players, you have a few more to bring in and cant see it being a problem staying up if you mix it up a bit with your play as teams in the prem cotton on very quickly and adapt if you don't.

Good job you were playing us today mate, one of the top 6 sides would have punished you mercilessly.
We played the same way as you under Martinez and it is just possession without an end result, I thought that we would have turned you over quite comfortably with 11 on the pitch for 90 minutes.
I think that there are worse teams than you, so you should be ok, but I think that today should be a wake up call that your not playing in the championship.
Forget the nervous excuses, you are playing against better teams.

Boly is a lot better than he was today, but even in the Championship he could be a bit to laid back and sloppy.

How do you see your new blokes changing your side? On paper they should improve your side in a big way.

Missed the match but apparently we might end up being fun and stupid. Which after last year I'll most definitely take.

They were nervous, they looked it to me. I get we are playing against better sides, but you can still tell when a player isnt on their game and we had too many that weren't. Maybe we had a few that underestimated the step up, but i doubt it will happen again if thats the case.

They will give us far more mobility at the back. Jagielka is 36 and way off the standards he used to set. Silva wants to press high so we need more athleticism. Mina and Zouma are big athletic defenders who will bring height and aggression. Gomes will slot into midfield and should be the link between defence and attack. And hopefully Bernard can bring much needed creativity.

All looks good on paper. Might not quite work like that on the field. But given time I think we will be an improved side. Our team today is probably 5 players short of what we will be going with in a months time.

Jags as per usual way off the pace..i liked Jags great servant but certainly not a first team player anymore..at least this sending off will speed up the process

Plenty of positives to take from today’s game but I still can’t stand the fact we’re too nice!
We need a couple of players who get straight into the refs ear when decisions don’t go our way. Wolves didn’t get a single card in the game and there was definitely a few challenges that would have warranted a yellow.
Not one Everton player questioned the ref as to why the freekick had been moved to a more favourable position for Neves to shoot from. If the freekick was taken from the original position of the foul I don’t think it goes in.
I think it’s just pee’d me off more because BT commentary just laughed when Wolves took a foul throw and MOTD pundits laughed about the freekick.
The top 6 teams realise every decision counts, it’s time we stop just accepting everything that goes against us.

Thank god. Let's contest it and get an extra game added to his ban. Abysmal nowadays, but we've known that for seasons now. Fella needs to get some professionalism and join a club a few leagues down at his level. Completely finished here.

By the way: not even read the thread but anyone who claims it’s a foul never mind a red card needs a week banning. Never ever, ever, ever, ever a foul.

Maybe not 10 years ago or before, but it is now. Dont think the powers running the game like physical contact anymore. Its difficult for fans who have grown up watching a game where you can tackle hard ( but fairly ) to accept its not the case now.
