By the way: not even read the thread but anyone who claims it’s a foul never mind a red card needs a week banning. Never ever, ever, ever, ever a foul.

Have to agree . Don’t see how it could be a goal scoring opportunity when he didn’t even have the ball and at no point was the ball ever travelling toward the goal. A foul? Maybe? A yellow? Wouldn’t have surprised me but a red? I mean common he got the ball, he took the player after but still not that bad. If the happens in the centre circle it’s a yellow at most, so if he’s sent off for denying a scoring opportunity then that is beyond stupid as the player literally never had control of the ball at any stage and the ball never travelled toward our goal at any time

Thank god. Let's contest it and get an extra game added to his ban. Abysmal nowadays, but we've known that for seasons now. Fella needs to get some professionalism and join a club a few leagues down at his level. Completely finished here.
Harsh mate. He’s not good enough and he was a victim of his own circumstance yesterday through poor ball control, but he’s been great over the years.

Wolves were properly rubbish, wouldn't count against them being in a relegation battle on that showing. Clearly they know their defence is crap judging by how deep they played even with a man advantage. They will concede goals this year by the boat load I reckon.

As for us, very comfortable showing. I think we needed to play off Tosun more but when your most advanced midfielder has to be sacrificed after the red card I guess there isn't much you can do. We played a much higher line today than we did last season and for the most part we did it extremely well. Hopefully when Digne, Mina and one of either Zouma or Holgate are ready to start games we can establish a rock solid unit.

As for the red card, that is an unbelievably bad decision. It seems he got confused as to why he sent him off, BT were pretty certain during the game that he had been dismissed for denying a goal scoring opportunity which is bollocks because he denies the goal scoring opportunity by winning the ball. When a goalkeeper dives in on a striker and takes the ball first and then takes the man out its considered great play, why is this any different?

The new buzz phrase that they are now using is "excessive force" (which is entirely open to interpretation by the way) as another alternative to why he should have been sent off. Again, bollocks.

Did he lunge in? No, he stretched.
Did he use two feet? No.
Did he leave the floor? No.
Did he take the ball or the man first? The ball, clearly.

There's utterly no point in appealing though, they always try and back the ref under debatable circumstances. You could tell that when BT interviewed Peter Walton, a staggering buffoon and completely forgettable referee, who I can't recall even raising a point of interest as to why Pawson allowed the free kick to be taken 5 yards further forward than where the "foul" took place. Walton argued the Pawson could have shown Jagielka a red card either for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity or "excessive force". In my opinion its not even a foul.

A crap show all round from a bunch of muppets demonstrating clearly why FIFA didn't take their sorry arses to Russia.

Wolves fan here. Very interesting to read comments about today's game on this forum, as I was at the match. I thought Everton were really poor, even when they had 11 men. It was a bit like playing a mid table championship team who got a bit lucky. I thought that our passing and movement were another class compared with you guys. Were you folks really watching the same match?

Definitely not the same game you were watching anyway based on the tosh you've posted.

You sneaked a late draw at home against 10 men due to a refereeing howler and think we were the lucky team. I dread to think what it would be like if we were unlucky in your eyes.

Haha, did you have your eyes open when you went to the game? When we had 11 players and were 1 up, we looked so comfortable. You were at home, newly promoted and your defence sat incredibly deep despite the fact you have nothing to lose as it’s the first game.

Jags gets sent off by a poor referee decision, you then score the freekick. With 10 men we then go ahead again. Before you score on of your few 2nd half chances. We created more than you with 10 and had Coleman made a better cross, would have won the game.

Yes, at times your passing looked sharp and exciting, but we were playing a fairly high line with 3 very slow defenders and you didn’t slip anyone through all game. We controlled much of the game even with 10 men.

Your defence is incredibly poor and your manager didn’t change your tactics when you had an extra man so you remained sitting deep. You are going to concede a lot this season, regardless of how many you manage to score.

Whether you like it or agree with the new interpretations or not ( and i dont ), its a sending off in 2018.

Still don’t see it. And even if it is, you can take the decision to allow the freekick to be taken much closer to the box as the poor refereeing.

I would say its also vital we get atleast a point Saturday- if we lose it basically will be picked up by the RS loving media as

"Everton beaten by top 7 favourites" and straight away heads will drop a little - we need to go in that game and actually be a little anti Silva- keep it tight, let the crowd die down after the first 25 mins and try use our experience to get the win.

I would snatch your hands off for a draw only because Jags and Keane are a shambles.

I would go for:

Pickford

Coleman Keane Jagielka Digne

Gana Schnerderlin

Walcott Siggurdsson Richarlison

Tosun

Niasse on after 70 mins.
More or less spot on mate, and they did alright, too.
