Can still do a good job this season for the squad, I know he was the only one to have the balls to call out Martinez when he turned into a car crash of a manager here and that upsets you mate but have a bit of respect for another great servant to this club.

Nobody likes a grass.
Even a grass in Blue.

If that was a red card then we will see a lot of reds this year, awful decision and then he lets him move the ball about 5 or 6 yards and you think it never made a difference:blush: If you move the pen spot 5 or 6 yards do you think that'll make a difference:oops: I went yesterday thought we played well and would have won comfortably if it wasn't for such a poor ref, think your in for a long hard season but hope you stay up.COYB

Seeing what Neves is capable of, i don't think moving it forward made any difference. If anything it made it more difficult for him to get it up and over the wall and into the back of the net. He just strikes the ball so well.

I think we have seen an increase in reds even last season. You just cant tackle with any force anymore, you cant remotely raise your studs.

very happy with the second half, we fought. I like that. I can cheer for that kind of team. We may lose some but we will do down swinging and make some very good teams uncomfortable.

Not sure Tosun works in a high press game not fast or physically strong enough. Also may have cost us a goal when he got greedy and didn't put theo in clear.

Granted, but his hold-up play is very good....his touch for Richarlison’s 2nd was excellent

Obviously ridiculous decision.

On a side note: When the ref blows the whistle on that free we should be all over him remonstrating. The lack of reaction makes him look guilty.

Can’t think of a top defender from the last 20 years who wouldn’t pressure the referee in that situation.

What’s even worse is allowing the free kick to be moved forward without pointing it out to the ref. They just let it happen.

It was a good performance all round but we need to up our levels of snide.

Wolves fan here. Very interesting to read comments about today's game on this forum, as I was at the match. I thought Everton were really poor, even when they had 11 men. It was a bit like playing a mid table championship team who got a bit lucky. I thought that our passing and movement were another class compared with you guys. Were you folks really watching the same match?
I do like your name, a great player of the past. By the way I am really glad your club is back at the top league. It is a pity you are a clown though. You must have been desperate to have come on this site and expose your "idiocy". I wish your club well.

Studs up and showing going through jotas ankle to get the ball is a red card . Think a few on here need to go back to spec savers . It was a rash lunge by jags who tried to correct his own mistake but failed miserably. Danny bath got sent off for us last season with the exact type of foul , and I for one had no complaints or issue with the decision .

As far as the delusional minority evertonians still saying this is the 2nd string we played , what actually makes you think Mina and Zouma are going to improve Everton’s back line so drastically and work better as a cohesive unit . This the same Mina that let in 4 goals past him last season against the mighty levante while playing for barca ? Or is it the fact that if he was good enough to sit on Barca’s bench for most games last season then that makes him something special . Won’t even get started on Zouma ! Guess it’s honures even for now and Look forward to seeing you all at Goodison where apparently according to some we get smashed by the mighty Scouse Barcelona Z team, until then I’m out and good luck :)

Was it? We wouldnt know mate.

It's not a red. What giving a red is essentially saying is he has to let the lad run straight through on goal when he can easily reach the ball. He tried to get the ball and did so without going over the top or going through the man first.

As for "don't worry about the kick being moved forward five yards", you're doing a pretty poor job of leaving bias aside there. The chances of that going in from the correct position are low in the extreme. I suspect if that ever happens to Wolves to cost you what would have been a comfortable 3 points, you won't be as forgiving as you're asking Evertonians to be.

The level of spawn Wolves benefited from surrounding the red and following free kick was amazing and defined the rest of the game and yet you've still drawn and haven't even dominated. I think you and many others are going to have to revise expectations down slightly this year if I had to base my opinion on Wolves on that game.

I think the point you and others are missing ( and when we had it happen i was exactly the same ) about the red is it doesnt matter these days if you win the ball first. If you connect with any real force to your opponent, its a red. And yes, i agree its ridiculous, but its how it is now.

I'm not asking anyones forgiveness, and despite any bias i have, i'm just saying Neves would still have had just as good a chance of scoring from 5 yards further back anyway. It wouldnt be any different with any player who strikes the ball like he does. It wouldnt have fazed Beckham or Baggio for example.

Dont think at the moment we should be changing our expectations either. Its one game so far, after 10 games you may have a point and we have to reassess. Most of our support would be happy and be looking at around that 10th place spot. Our owners though have huge ambitions, and they have the final clout to make it happen. Probably not as fast as they would like with FFP, but there arent many clubs in England who can all on owners who can back the club financially as we can.

But the fact you're intentionally ignoring is that many, many tackles like that will happen every week in the PL this season and won't be given as reds. That's because it isn't one and it wasn't one when you had one go against you last season either.

I suppose then if Sigurdsson/Baines steps up and puts one top bin from 20 yards in the last second, that should have been from 25 and wins us the game, you'd have been absolutely fine with that because he's a good set-piece specialist?

Wow honestly was watching and saying I’ve never seen a team over hit so many passes.
Loads of balls out for throw ins or goal kicks.
Plus you really didn’t threaten too much.

richarlison actually walked up to the place of the foul to show the ref baines and another player told the ref as well but we are to nice as a team

Who the heck is Danny Bath and why would anyone here be one bit arsed if he got sent off in a pub game against Burton Albion or someone.

Jagielka cleanly played the ball. Perfect challenge. Not over the ball. Squarely on the ball.

Whether you like it or agree with the new interpretations or not ( and i dont ), its a sending off in 2018.
It would be interesting to split any vote into how old you are.
I'm old school and that tackle was a great tackle in my day, crowd would be applauding.
If you are 30 and under, I would guess that you are in the penalty all day long camp.
What happened to defending being an art the same as scoring goals? You can't tackle without someone doing a triple salco these days.
And what the hell is " he went in with excessive force " how can you play a physical game without trying to impose yourself over an opponent?
