First and last game at Old Trafford in the tournament which is a bit daft. (there may be some clashes I am not aware of).68,871 there tonight, a good crowd and new uefa/Euro record
Sweden are my Pick, but didnt think much of England and they have an easy group reallyEngland need to make more chances or they have no chance of winning this. Then again, I don't care, I support Sweden.
Nice cheap day out I guess.68,871 there tonight, a good crowd and new uefa/Euro record
Probably navigating into dangerous waters here but I have never actually watched a women‘s games before today. Given all the hype I thought the standard would be quite high but watching Northern Ireland v Norway it does seem quite poorWhy is women’s football now on prime time TV all the time? It’s worse than League Two quality.
Why not?Why is women’s football now on prime time TV all the time? It’s worse than League Two quality.
Honestly could have been worse. There is a massive gulf between the two teams. A lot of the NI girls are amateur/part time players. Norway took their foot off the gas a fair it though.Embarrassing for N.I.
This would be all well an good and I don't completely disagree, but there are sports women play more predominately than men, that get next to no coverage. Netball has been on sky for a few years, hockey which is played to a high level by both sexes isn't on mainstream TV.Why not?
Its not 1980, we have more than 3 channels. Don't like it watch another channel.
The quality thing is stupid. They are the best women's footballers in Europe. That's the point. How they compare to men is completely irrelevant.
People's attitudes baffle me. I hate cricket, like HATE it. I find it boring, but I wont moan about it being on telly because it's not for me. Same as anything I don't like.
Also I think there is something to be said about a sport being more interesting if you know what is going on. The players involved, the rivalries, having a vested interest in it. If you don't know anyone and don't care about the result then it's just another game of sport isn't it? It's why people follow lower division clubs etc, they have an interest in it. If that wasn't the case then everyone would support a small handful of clubs (well moreso than they do now...)
