Good competition that was. Neither looked capable of jumping any more than 4.90.
I like the idea of sharing of Golds under that circumstance.
Tamberi and Barshim when they did it for the high jump 2 years ago was different. I think Barshim could have taken Tamberi that day.
Kennedy and Moon could have gone down to the next level 2.90 again but I think that'd destroy the idea of the pole vault and getting higher to win.
Warholm was a beast again and the Scottish lad did well for the 1,500M...although I think Ingebrigtsen is off the pace now of 1,500 major competition racing and should concentrate on the 5,000 and maybe 10,000. He set the world record for 2 miles this year. I know he holds the 1,500M record too but I dont see him easily holding off fast finishers like Kerr. His choice of schedule for the Olympics next year will be interesting.

I think it shows the good sides of sport - the highly competitive nature plus a nice display of sportsmanship in deciding with a rival that you’ve both put all you can out there.
I find it weak mate especially in individual sport. That’s like to tennis players basically saying let’s not do this tie break and share the Wimbledon title.

I get what you’re saying but I think it’s different in athletics as the World Championships and Olympics aren’t held as regularly as tennis tournaments.
It’s only happened twice in like the last 80 years or something as well hasn’t it? I might change my mind if it starts happening all the time… The bloody wokie atheletes!
