I’d rather the players just get on with playing footy and then after the tournament Qatar as a country get a ban from qualifying for the next World Cup and other international tournaments for X years

I really don't think they need to ban them from the next world cup. Based on yesterday, there is as much chance of San Marino qualifying for 2026

Agreed but being denied the opportunity to try. Regardless of how poor a side is, being banned from a qualifying stage sends a message.

They've never lost by more than three goals at the World Cup. Last tournament lost 1-0 to Spain and drew with Portugal.
