The screaming, rolling on the floor, going down holding the head and all this kak is just elevated to a new level with a lot of these players in the world cup. get's right on my nerves.

Would rather look at Alex Scott than Danny Murphy tbh.
 
Just a word on the punditry so far. Although some of the matches have been cr@p and there are issues with the host nation etc, there has been a severe lack of carnival atmosphere, positivity and general laughs on tv, especially ITV. The World Cup offers a chance of escapism from our everyday worries. When I tune in and see Roy Keane, Gary Neville and graham Souness sitting there with their sour-baked faces, dour, moaning, negative takes on almost EVERY aspect of each match, I feel like searching for the razor blades. That’s without even mentioning the merchant of doom lee Dixon on co-commentary duty. The bbc hasn’t been too much better tbh.

Those 3 though are really starting to ruin the World Cup for me. Gonna start switching over when their depressing faces appear on my screen. Why do we need pundits anyway? We don’t need football explained to us do we?

I don't think hosting a World Cup in a totalitarian human-rights violating autocracy is really conducive to a "carnival" atmosphere. If anything, Souness and Keane merely reflect the prevailing brute masculinity of the place.
