The human rights issues are well known around the world, we don’t need half-witted football pundits to reinforce how we should all feel. Can we not just enjoy the football now? Roy no-mates shouldn’t be anywhere near world cups. The most negative human on earth, and the guy couldn’t even be bothered to stay and play for his country in one. Useless coach as well.

We don't need a pretend, artificial "carnival" to take our minds off the reality, either. I'm enjoying the football for what it is. Why shouldn't I? I don't need a pundit to add some festivity. This World Cup is what it is. Too many would prefer to ignore the totalitarianism in plain view.

Loads of people have missed games due to visas disappearing off their App and not been allowed to fly in.

Yes, you can. They are not forcing you to watch the pre-game/half-time/post-game talk. Turn the TV on/over at kick off (put it on mute, if you also feel that the commentary is ruining you watching football), then turn the TV off/over when the full-time whistle goes.
