I think the 2026 WC should be used to bring soccer culture to a lot of smaller cities and parts of middle America, that never had a previous soccer fanbase. Bringing the WC to these cities will do exactly that to drive up the popularity of soccer. It's all well and good having games in Seattle, where the city already has a thriving soccer culture as supposed to somewhere like Cinncinati, which could do with extra exposure.
That was Blatter's excuse for Qatar getting it.Its the biggest football tournament on earth. Its job isn't to grow the game in places with no interest.

Qatar is the wealthiest nation on Earth. That was the excuse. We all know the reason.

It was inevitable that there would be a Winter world cup sometime in our lifetime, so we better get used to the idea now. If Australia/NZ ever end up hosting a WC in the future, it will be winter as well.Yes, and therefore willing and able to pay the "hidden costs" of hosting a world cup. Particularly the elevated ones involved in screwing up the calendar for the whole season to play it in stadia constructed by slaves in the middle of a desert with no football culture.

Oceania is a major region in the world that still hasn't hosted the WC. Not to mention, Australia has great sporting pedigree to host the soccer WC sometime in our lifetime. I'm sure NZ and Aus co-hosting would mean they both have enough stadia to host the WC.No it won't.
They also probably won't because Australia really struggles for stadia that are well suited. Too many ovals.

It'd be winter too as everything in Aus happens in our winter season.
