Doubt it. North Americas next, then South Americas, then Asia, then back to Africa. Surely Europe will be next after that.

That said, we all know money talks.

Exactly. Fairness goes out of the window. I'd bloody love to see a World Cup spread out across Colombia, Venezuela and Peru, or Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, or just in Brazil cos it's bloody massive.

But I think Qatar is classed as Asia? Although I guess Asia is so big that you could divide it into several parts, especially with Australia being in Asia in footie terms too

Between those two World Cups I got married and we had our first child, so definitely watched more of the 2002 one as I had just graduated from university and didn’t have a job yet

Pretty sure the FIFA ideal is to have the 100th anniversary one in the South Americas. IIRC, 4 countries there have clubbed together already. Who that is though, no idea. That said, Brazil had it one before Russia/Uke didnt they?

Put a free fiver bet on Lautaro Martinez for Golden Boot at 25/1. Argentina’s group is quite soft with Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland and think they will rattle in a few goals. No value in doing Messi, really, so went with Lautaro instead.

Might put a couple of quid on Lautaro/Brazil to win tournament at 125/1 as well.

Just got Ecuador in a sweepstake

Been reading good things about Ecuador. Young guns coming along nicely through their excellent youth set up. Being bankrolled by one of South America's richest men who got rid of Jordi Cruyff before he even managed a game. Got a low profile Argentine manager in and he's worked wonders.

Should get out of the group and might even knock out England in the round of 16.
Unlikely to win the event at 275/1 but it's been a strange journey to get this WC here in the desert. Who knows in this crazy world what could happen next.

I did the tournament predictor on bet365 and ended up with Brazil vs Argentina in the semi finals with Brazil beating Uruguay (beat England in semis) in the final. Will more than likely be miles off with that, though.
