I love this. The Welsh FA have done brilliant sanctioning this official video of ‘Yma o Hyd' (We're still here) as it's very political.
I think he wrote it years and years ago. He was a Plaid Cymru politician and quite radical. He went to gaol for defending Welsh language issues. It is utterly fantastic. Am I right that it was kinda adopted by the fans, a bit like Hymns and Arias was at the Arms Park all those years ago, in an organic way? Pretty sure the singer/writer(?) said as much in an interview a while back.

Wales as a nation are becoming a lot more separatist minded now, so I think that's the organic link you refer to. As the Welsh national football team has become more competitive and successful they've been caught up with that mood.
I had never heard it until that clip where he performed it at the game and the crowd joined in was covered on Talksport. Thats probably when I heard him interviewed as well. You know how footie fans are, we love a great song to adopt. When that song actually has some real relevance, its very powerful.
And also very Welsh. Thats a compliment. My Grandmother was Welsh.
That's always been the case in these countries tbh.In other words if you are rich enough, all the VIPs, invited guests and business partners will be able to enter the stadium and drink in their private lounges
It's anthemic. Stirring. Songs that go beyond football always are. In that vein I also like Hibs' adoption of Sunshine on Leith.
Nothing wrong with the Bosman ruling. The notion that a club should have hold over an out of contract employee is ridiculous whether that employee plays football, sells tickets or whatever.Hopefully this is the start of the football bubble bursting. World Cup is terrible , sponsor’s sue FIFA and pull out of future events , disgraced products who associate themselves with the corruption , gambling companies banned from sponsoring and TV rights moneys drops due to streaming and general lack of interest and people no longer willing to pay a lot of money to watch a group of moron sounding millionaires dive their way to a 0-0 .
Football will survive but the game was disgraced has been for years. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of Football Armageddon and we start again. Cap wages, Salary Caps for teams , get rid of agents and bosman whatever it is that ruined the game I dunno but its a horrible sport in every way. I loved it
An estimated 1.2 million fans are going to attend this WC.My Scottish team, thanks to a mate who is Godfather to my eldest. Fabulous song, and when the Hibbies sung it when they won the cup it was mesmeric.
I never knew till this season that Forest fans sung Mull of Kyntyre. Not a great song, but some of the lyrics kinda fit their last 20 odd years as fans.
Its a shame, it seems anyrate, that there wont be enough fans at this WC to recreate the atmosphere great songs can provide.

Brilliant ploy that. Fly all the fans in, then tell them they can’t have a beer. Beer and footie go hand in hand
My rant isn't against the beer part per se but that it's just yet another thing in the long long long long long list of things Qatar never should have even been considered for hosting the world cup with. They agreed to XYZ in order to put forth a bid and have basically reneged on just about every single one of them.
Baddiel ans Skinner have re done 3 Lions. The original is fine, but a bit dated, but I watched the new video, and how they have done it works really well. Kin ages you and no mistake.
OofYea I don't trust Arabs.
