WORRIED?

always, we're Everton, but guess what we won, and we have a load of new lads trying to settle in. As long as we win I'm not too fussed, but my god I hate Everton

I thought the opposite based on the kind fixture opening.

It's only the performances in the opening three games that has swung the optimism/mood IMO.

...ok, my view (as posted on here) was that it was always going to be a struggle, regardless of opposition. I never really expected good performances. Silva/Brands have bought different type of players, to play a different type of game but they are either not ready or unavailable.

I expect us to improve with time.

Ah, another transitional season then? :p

I best batten down the hatches...

I don't accept that argument around "new, different type of players" and needing time to perform against bottom half sides - our opening three league games only saw one new player come in;

Crystal Palace. Starting 11 were all here last season.
Watford. Our starting 11 had one new signing in Gbamin, who was meant to be like-for-like for Gana.
Aston Villa. Starting 11 were all here last season.

Sure, time to really kick on but the level of performance in the opening three games has been pretty poor.

So far in the league we have played three won one, drawn one lost one - All should have been victories with the players we have and money spent, could have lost them all.

Carabao Cup struggled to win against a first division club.

Look lethargic, off the pace and quite frankly clueless at times.

Silva still insisting on playing Schneiderlin who constantly makes defensive errors, fails to tackle, gives free kicks away and insists on playing forty yard balls to heavily marked players or passes back.

In essence I believe we have a decent squad with the potential for a good cup run and or relative league success, I just think the man at the helm does not know who his best squad is and where to play them.

Wolves (supposedly one of our main rivals for that coveted 7th spot) on Sunday and really not relishing that one.

Am I worried?

Damn right I am....................
Somebody take this man’s shoelaces off him ffs

Not sure it's fair to claim he's "insisting" on playing Schneiderlin when his replacement for Gueye (Gbamin) is injured, and Delph has been too.

I'm a little worried at the tactics . Everything goes down the flanks and not a lot of movement sometimes . We are a bit over reliant on crosses and set plays .

Did you actually watch the game last night? For all but 60 seconds of it, we were utterly dominant and in control. If you compare it to the home FA cup performance v Lincoln last season it was night and day. We absolute battered them.

75% possession and 24 attempts. The early goal was a big blow but it was offside and just one of those things. Their second was an absolute worldy. 99/100 he blazes it. In previous years we'd have capitulated on a night like that, but we asserted ourselves and played good football despite getting kicked around the park.

There's new players settling in - 4 full debuts last night - and we're also learning to play without Gana. It will take time, but we'll be fine and I expect us to be 7th at worst and hopefully higher. If that makes you "WORRIED" then you need to just take a walk, calm yourself down, and have a look at yourself.

As for Wolves - yep - tough game, and they turned us over last season at home. But they've started with 3 PL draws - and almost lost at home to Burnley but for a 97th minute penalty. They've got a tough Europa league game tonight where they won't be able to rest players and I think this is a good time to play them.

I think we'll be fine and I reckon minimum draw and hopefully win on Sunday at Air Raid Siren Park

Our performances haven't been great but we were far more likely to win all 3 games than we were to lose all 3 - as the OP suggests. We had clear cut chances to kill villa and bury them but our finishing was terrible. As annoying as it was to watch us toil against Lincoln, let's be honest they hardly touched the ball in our half and their two goals were actually really good that you can't be too critical of our team for. That was as dominant a performance as you're going to get.
