Such a myth.....

Yes he loses the big games more often than not against teams with stronger squads/teams than he has at his disposal.
Some are in for such a shock when he moves on.[/QUOTE]

I know!! I won't know what to with myself when we win by more than two goals.

Or regularly get defeated by more than two goals. Works both ways.
But its within two transfer windows I think most will see the difference Moyes makes to us.

Scan the teams who've knocked us out the FA Cup and League Cup the last 11 years and then tell us they're stronger teams than ours.

We have a catch 22 situation at our club.

As long as Moyes stays, we are stuck with Bill, which means no chance for any off-field progress and falling ever further behind.

That's the reality of the choice we face. As long as Moyes stays, Kenwright does too, and Kenwright is the real cancer at our club.

This is the main point which needs addressing, if it means Moyes has to go to achieve it then so be it. The time just feels right for change, for Moyes and Everton.

This thread amuses me.

I vote Moyes!!

In related news, ive robbed a bank and will be renewing next Season, if Moyes leaves I will just sell my seat on that ticket place thingy.

This thread amuses me also, that some fans actually truly believe that David Moyes is the ONLY man alive capable of keeping Evertoncin the premier league...it's just ludicrous and bordering on silly.

Most people don't think this, but some, like me, think we have a better chance of mounting a challenge for fourth next year (lets face it we probably should have done it this year) if we give Moyes the Fellaini/TV money than we would if we started off with a new manager like Martinez. Martinez would want to implement a philosophy that judging from his time at Wigan would take a couple of seasons and would probably result in league inconsistency (although there may be a few big away wins post April). This may be beneficial in the long run but more beneficial than getting in the top 4 could be? If Moyes' team was stagnating (like the start of 2011-12) then perhaps more people would consider a change, but the fact is if anything its improved ridiculously in just two transfer windows to the point where we now have possibly the ebst side in Moyes era, one that I think would improve further by selling the Fellaini money and reinvesting wisely. if arsenal or Spurs slip next year with Moyes we owuld have a serious chance of fourth - I just don't think we would with Martinez.

The problem is, I don't buy us as a club ever becoming an elite team under the current financial conditions.

We might get 4th once, but I don't that will make the difference people hope and I don't think we're financially capable of becoming a title challenging team unless something big changes either at everton or in football.

What we are capable of is winning a cup or two. And that's my sole priority, really. I don't think switching managers will improve us in the league but it might well do in the cups.

You do realise that the other 19teams are getting this money as well don't you. Whilst it may not make a difference to teams like stoke as challengers it will certainly benefit the teams above us to a greater extent because they already have more money to start with.

I wonder if it would be easier to coach elite level footballers to pass to each other than play a long ball game they had little or no experience of before they came to Everton?

I've even seen Jagielka passing it on the floor to a midfielder once.

It gets trickier the more you think about, because with the windfall and Fellaini money there's nobody I'd trust to spend it more than Moyes.

But tactically he frustrates me and I can't take it how we bottle it every season in the important games.

I guess I'd be happiest with a short term contract for Moyes.

i accept the defence of nobody could have done the job he has done for us, especially on the finances, because i doubt many managers in the world could have done what he's done. But we need to leave that where it is - in the past - and look towards the future. But i want to look towards the future and with the current squad we have, hand on heart, based on the last couple of seasons i honestly can't see how he could take us any further, whereas i believe another manager could possibly do it.

he's made the same recurring mistakes over the last couple of years and sadly doesn't seem to learn from them.

obviously people will disagree and they have every right.

That's the point though. City, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal.. err QPR, have all the money in the world, getting a handful of notes won't make any difference to their transfer policies.. Moyes has had nothing to work with and still by buying and selling has kept us competitive with these guys. Give Moyes something to actually work with and he'll get us far closer. Its what he does.
