Scan the teams who've knocked us out the FA Cup and League Cup the last 11 years and then tell us they're stronger teams than ours.

That's such a bollocks argument as every top side in the PL has lost cup games to 'weaker' opposition during that period

its also a myth that Moyes is great in the transfer market. He's made some of the worst signings in evertons history

All roads lead to a crossroads for the club.

Sell Up or play russian roullete with the clubs future.

I think that will only happen if our transfer windows continue as per the norm.. I.e sell 20mil, get 10 and the new guy isn't capable of keeping up with those that spend because of it.
There are not many that can improve us under these conditions as those that we do finish below spend big money, and ultimately whilst we could head in the relegation direction I think a manager with a combination of great tactics and decent transfer window tactics could comfortably see us avoid that scenario due to the quality of squad that Moyes has built.
I can't think of anyone we could get that would actually improve us though.

Which is why i form my opinion, if a manager had say a gaurenteed budget of 20 mill per year, my threshold for change would be lower, but then Moyes with money might just be the push needed to break the glass window. Fundamentaly nothing has changed in terms of finance of the pitch since the bad old days, so whoever comes in is working under those limits which a) arent very apeealing and b) i think we wont get someone as loyal and pig headed as Moyes - more someone like O Neill who when the good times ran out at Villa walked away c) we have come to expect stability - i dont see it being the case, yet its a huge contributing factor to our success.

In short we will be in the Maunre buisseness - hopefully im wrong - but i doubt it.

Its not, because no one thinks that, its like me saying that its amusing how people think that no matter who we get we'll win the league... its simply not true.

It is indeed true.

No one has said whoever we get will "win the league".

That's just you plucking a totally daft analogy from the ether because you cannot refute the poster's perspicacious, yet totally simple (indeed blindingly obvious) comment about Moyes not being the "only man alive" whom can save EFC from relegation.

It's sad that fellows have bought into this nonsense......and the sooner chaps like yourself have to face up to life without the Moyesiah the better it will be for your football supporting career.

I'm just sayin'.

It's probably just me mate but I've not seen one single post saying that but I've seen loads that seem to suggest without moyes relegation is only months away. I have seen lots of posts suggesting we might just survive moyes leaving though and I'm firmly in that camp namely that long term we may well do ok but just as easily we could struggle and I accept that.

That's why it's just a tough call but change doesn't necessarily mean we're doomed

Agreed, although I have seen none that claim we'll get relegated regardless of who we get.
The chances a far higher that we would do worse rather than better, but our squad is easily capable of avoiding relegation battle with nearly any manager... Except Mark Hughes of course.

Show me a post that says noone except Moyes could keep Everton in the premier league.

Would you agree though mate that those fervently pro-moyes do post the idea of relegation or at least being dragged into the battle seems almost nailed on if he leaves.

Im far from convinced he'll go but i just think We shouldn't let fear of change dismiss any possibility of looking forward. What is certain to me is that if he goes then we need to all get behind his replacement and accept that moyes got time and a new manager would need more of the same.

Blackburn and Bolton are the warning signs. Stable midtable clubs without a lot of money who challenged for europe and then appointed the wrong guys, had one bad season too many and ended up in the crap.

But with respect we're not bolton or blackburn and otoh there's wigan who are a tiny club who have just managed to do enough to stay in the league.

Our level financially is about 10th to 15th, our level in footballing terms based on our squad is 4th-7th. It would have to be a really bad manager who'd take this team into a relegation fight and a relatively bad manager to take our club there.

Any manager who's even average in terms of top flight managers should keep us clear of the dog flight as a minimum with what he'll inherit this summer.
