No chance I'd be travelling overseas to blast some poor bugger in the head for a war nobody wanted or understood though.
 

Interesting thread very topical.
I am from an era when the last thing you saw on the television before it shut down at about 1130pm was the national anthem, and as a kid watching the Remembrance Day ceremony at Whitehall and seeing the Queen and thinking it was your unquestionable duty to fight and ultimately die for her, if the need arose. At that time, I would have done exactly that, without question.
Its all academic now of course given my age, but ask the same question today and I do not think that the level of patriotism exists in this country that would persuade me to say yes. This due to the fact that pretty much like some people are happy to let others graft their bollocks off to provide the funds to pay benefits, there would be a great many who would be happy to let others do the dirty work necessary.

Look, due to forums like this being inhabited by politically clued up folks who hold passionate views on the subject, I will politely decline to answer your question for fear of getting dogs abuse as I did on another website.
