Coupel of guys I know in dubai and london working in financial markets --both chelsea fans say they have heard its 20mil+ fee agreed in principle and Tottenham offered to match it but have been turned down. Apparently Lukaku will decide by the end of the week.

Theyre disappointed. Never had any transfer news of these guys but seems good thst others on here and apparently twitter all saying something similar.

I've never been optimistic in a transfer window before and have never really believed we'd sign lukaku permanently but gee i'm getting excited now !

For us to be happy to have BT constantly make adverts of us being scored past by the cult would suggest we may be happy with their tv money contibutions. The money available to prem teams this summer is unprecedented.

If the bookies get to 1/2 or shorter then it might mean something anything longer and its just speculation.

And we've never done £20m transfers because we never had anywhere close to that kind of money or ambition. Not saying we do now like, but a 20m striker is pretty much a prerequisite for a top 4 challenge these days.

But we've never really spent that over the last few years and always been 5th to 8th.

It is true though. Money talks and we need it to push on from where we are. Not that it's been any different over the last god knows how many years.

heard from numerous people now that the deal with chelsea is done - i heard £21M tbh but what a million between friends.

Fee paid over the duration of the contract...accepted by chelsea but the delay is meant to be Lukaku deciding if he wants to join.
