Would you pay £24m for Lukaku?

What is the maximum you'd pay for Rom?

We do have the money to sign players without selling mate.

Massive tv money plus surplus from player sales.

Whether we spend it is another matter
We are in the same position every summer mate but the money vanishes.
Our hope is strong in july then when it gets to deadline day we are thankfull for anybody.
Its how we roll but it does not help with all the so called itks making stuff up daily

There is money available, we all should know that considering how well we've played the transfer market the last 2/3 windows. Then add on the money we should get to bolster and the television money. We could be talking £30-£40m here. I understand the skeptism because it is unheard of for us to have funds of this quantity but I believe it to be true. One contradicting statement is that Roberto wants 4/5 players and transfer fees on an average player in 2014 is £5m+ so for us to get 4 players and Lukaku would take genius work*

*unless its Romelu for £24m and Kalou, Besic, Cleverley, Alan Smith for £15m

So because its happened before we should just accept it? NO. Thats worse than those staunchly defending Kenwright.
We've gained a fair bit of money through player sales and not spent it all. We've just finished 5th in the Premier League and received a huge amount of money from Television, if there isnt £22m to spend the Board need shooting, none of this 'Oh well we are used to it arent we' attitude people have.

There is money there, and it will be spent. Plus Ross isnt getting sold so stop chatting absolute wham.

We will spend this window, its the next few we have to worry about.

Like the last massive new tv deal, we got Felli on the drip. 3 million per year for 5 seasons, we spent a bit that window but went into hiding for quite a few windows afterwards

I know we are gonna spend but we have no idea what our budget is. If Lukaku costs £24m initially and Besic is £2m what does that leave left? We still need 2/3 more players, are they gonna be cheap squad fillers from the lower leagues or abroad?

The club has stabilised financially in the last few years. Selling Fellaini for £27 million made absolute sense in financial and footballing terms.

With the new tv money there will definitely be some money to spend. Whether we sign lukaku is a totally different matter!

Let's sign Lukaku for the asking price, get that Bosnian lad in cheap, then go to four players and say;

I'm actually being serious. We've got Barry, let's get Romelu and Besic, then use the loan market again for decent squad expansion.

What about players before him who we have sold? Did that make financial sense?

We're is the jelavic money and the Anichebe money? That should be saved up unless its disappeared

I can't see it going any other way, if we sign Lukaku as a permanent transfer. The only way we are going to pay cash money for three or four players is if we get a starting striker on a season-long loan.

I'd take that though. We need his goals, and we also need decent squad depth, not journeymen bench warmers.

They will be bought over the length of the contract, we will get all the players we need i reckon. The problem is, that the next few transfer windows the money will have already be spent so we will be back to sell to buy again.

It's going to be a gamble this summer, but i have faith in Martinez to pull it off. I'm not going to comment on our board, i'm staying positive.

If this is what he thinks about Ozil with arsenal, what chance is he giving us?

''No dissrespect to Arsenal who is also a big club but i don't understand why ozil has left real madrid.... I guess will never know.."
