Would you pay £24m for Lukaku?

What is the maximum you'd pay for Rom?

‘I’m still 21 but I think I’m experienced enough. I’ve played a lot of games and scored a lot of goals, now I want to win titles and be one of the best.’

‘I want to be somewhere where I can play my best football and hopefully win titles. There are choices to make. Things like that happen in football and I’m confident I will make the right choice.’

Quotes like the above put me off the guy, he obviously views us as a back up plan and it wouldn't be so galling were it not for the fact that he's not as good as he thinks he is. The reason the top teams aren't queuing up for you Rom is that you're not the finished article, and until you improve at the very least another level you won't be near a team winning titles year after year. The situation makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to be honest. But I know we can't do any better, and it's a great opportunity to sign a player who might turn out to be superb.

A lot of people on Twitter saying he meant to be signing today.

Someone put a picture on with Bobby, as they met him on Sunday and said he said Besic is a done deal and Rom will sign on Tuesday, he has just finished his first holiday and is off on his second so could stop on route and would make sense.

Not believing anything till its done though, too many people saying different things and struggle to believe Bobby would tell fans his transfer, but it isn't just one person saying it...

Do you know their twitter?

The guy has an attitude problem - we're a bit blinded by just how much of a ted he is as he wore the blue shirt, but honestly comments like he made on Twitter about Arsenal and when you actually look at his track record indicate a really poor attitude.

I can live with that as he's not a rat like Suarez, but he's not exactly likable either.

Agree regarding his attitude no doubt if he joined he would be talking up his chances of a move ala felliani soon as we miss out on CL, I still would love him though even though Bony talks less!

I think the lad's just massively ambitious. He wants to make it to the very top of the game and I appreciate his honestly, frankly. He's got a big mouth (see Arsenal comments), but I reckon he means well. I find it frustrating that he seems to think he can do better than us (and doesn't mind implying it publicly), as I'm an Evertonian and you probably couldn't find a better fit for him currently, but he's not wrong.

No matter what job you do you have to believe you are the best in your field. He is confident and if he convinces himself he can be a worldy then he will fulfill that and there's no better club for him to do that at. Would you rather he said "I think I'm alright yea, I'm a bit crap with my stamina and my left foot needs working on, there's a lot of centre forwards and I think most of them have more talent than me"
How bad does that sound? That would put you right off him. You'd say you're not touchin that! He doesn't have any self-belief!

See where I'm comin from

If I was in his position then I'd want to win titles and be the best, don't think he's saying too much any other footballers would say, perhaps I'm reading it wrong.
I suspect Rom has learned more this last season under RM than any other time in his football career.our players seem to be signing to long term contracts,I'd wager they believe the future is bright under Roberto also.

Load of rubbish.

He's said things to the media which reflect his level of ambition, the fact that he wants to win titles and isn't afraid to speak the truth does not mean he has an 'attitude problem'.

No, it's the little things like Mourinho commenting that he isn't telling the truth about certain things, belittling Arsenal as a club for no reason and generally being deluded in his statements.

I have no problem whatsoever with a guy thinking and acting like a winner, but I think Lukaku crosses the line from being determined and confident into being, to be blunt, a bit of a bell.

That said, I don't hold footballers up as role models - as long as he's good at his job and not biting or going out to injure fellow pros, he can be the biggest bell on the planet for all I care.

I think he preferred Phil Neville and his "top 10 finish is boss".
