Would you sign Welbeck? (rumoured to be wanting out of OT)

Wellbeck doesn't score enough and would cost a fortune, so he would be an absolutely crap transfer for us, regardless of whether Bobby rates him.

I really don't agree with this "But if Roberto rates him then that is good enough for me" nonsense. It is incredibly cultish! So what if Roberto wanted to purchase Earl Barrett for 15 million quid? Would you still be saying "If Roberto rates him then that is good enough for me"?

This is why football forums exist

kone a better player than wellbeck( Really).I don't want us to sign wellbeck but Kone is a pub player and should be released now or sooner.

I dont care if Kone tries it on with all the ladies in the pubs, he is a decent player who showed.more.last.season than he got to show with us and scored 13 goals. He will do just fine if he comes back ok from injury and will shut a few overthetoppers up, but some will continue on their merry way writing off players after a couple off bad games and missed sitters.

He's said he might have to leave United to play in his preferred central striking position. I've never been his greatest fan but it would probably be worth weighing up.

He says that he gets to play his natural role for England, where his goal return is better than 1 in 3 (8 in 21) and that he's played more as a left winger for United.

His current deal runs to 2016 and, if Van Gaal doesn't fancy him, I imagine that he'd be available for half the price of Lukaku or Bony. Maybe a loan could be an option? If it works out he'd only have a year left on his contract and we could pick him up for a song.

I actually like him. He's got all the physical tools and arrogance every good ST needs. For me it's just a matter of giving him a run up front.

Don't think it's fair to judge him as he has mostly been played on the wings for the last 2 seasons or so. His overall game is very good, he has got tons of pace and can take on defenders, plus his link up play and touch is also very good, all he is missing is a propper chance to play up front. Anything close to 10M would be great business for us IMO and I would completely trust Roberto on getting the best out of him.

...However, he was desperate to come to Everton. Something to do with his days at Preston.

He's far from being a sexy signing but i reckon he'd actually be a decent signing for our system where strikers are expected to hold the ball up and bring others into play. But i've been very wrong in the past :)

To be honest with Martinez in charge I feel confident that anyone we bring in will improve and do well for us. I can't imagine Welbeck being a cheap option though.
