Most people are saying £15-18m, which I'd say is fair. They won't accept it as he's a key player, or would want more than that, again justifiable.what value are we quoting?
I think it's safe to say he won't be bidding 15 million for Earl Barrett mate, he is 46 after all. There's nothing wrong with having faith in a managers judge of player though. Let's face it, most of us thought we overpaid for McCarthy but Roberto obviously knew what he was doing.Wellbeck doesn't score enough and would cost a fortune, so he would be an absolutely crap transfer for us, regardless of whether Bobby rates him.
I really don't agree with this "But if Roberto rates him then that is good enough for me" nonsense. It is incredibly cultish! So what if Roberto wanted to purchase Earl Barrett for 15 million quid? Would you still be saying "If Roberto rates him then that is good enough for me"?
Rik Wee has sorted it........Can someone please take this thread and the one about Cleverley out the back, douse with petrol and ignite please.
Thanks.
Great post that actually, never thought of it that way but I think you're right - the way we've been playing football this season means good players will be happy to sign for us, and top foreign sides with excessive squads will be happy to loan to us.
