Would you sign Welbeck? (rumoured to be wanting out of OT)

he does not score enough goals but some of the goals he has scored are very clinical there is something there maybe at the right club he could progress a loan deal would be ideal .. we still have kone he might surprise next season

I wouldn't mind him if he was one of 2 strikers we got and the other was top quality. But if he was our main striker next season I'd be gutted.

Totally agree with this, if Lukaku proves too much and we got Wellbeck and Bony, then I'd be well happy with that as the strike force.

I will trust RM to get the best out of most players, and Welbeck might be affordable. For the sake of squad depth he might be a good call.
Several interesting players at United that might be let go by the new manager whoever he may be. Chicharito, Cleverley, Kagawa and Welbeck among others are all players that I think could leave. Spurs are in a similar situation.

Chicharito is a great player and I doubt that their next manager, if he's not Moyes-esque, won't see that.

True. If they're not looking to bring in someone new. Chicharito is far to good to be sub/reserve. Almost forgot they also have Zaha. Someone will go for sure.

I would totally trust Roberto to get the best out of him, but I still think his best is not good enough for where we are aiming. You can excuse his goal return as he's been played out of position but his all round game is poor. If we got him I'd be right behind and would hope he'd prove me wrong but I just can't see it.

why is it even being debated about whether we should take 2 of Man Utds worst players (and cleverly) when most of Utds first XI wouldn't get into our team......

Yeah, he might be available to get under certain circumstances.

Zaha can run and pretty much nothing else though.

If it is Van Gaal I think he will focus on making RVP his main striker and build around him, with a tailor made striking partner. Rooney won't be sold, but doesn't work well with RVP imo from what I've seen anyway.

We'd have Naismith, Kone and Mirallas next season as coverage, and only Kone out of those is a striker I guess. Lukaku surely first on the list (if we get CL), or Bony, but we need one more for depth I think.

Bony in, and with Welbeck as backup maybe?

All this constant talk I see on here about Bony makes us sound like Utd fans when they were after Baines for 12p. Loads seem to mention it as if it's a done deal if we have the money.

I'd take Welbeck, but only for a small fee and not as a starter. Good link up player, good workrate, ok finisher, but he never seems to be in the right place for a striker.
